The Ottawa Senators could be without top goalie Linus Ullmark on Monday afternoon.
A day after head coach Travis Green told reporters the club’s top goalie wasn’t on the ice for practice Sunday at the Canadian Tire Centre because Ullmark was taking a “maintenance day” the club recalled Mads Sogaard from its American Hockey League affiliate in Belleville.
The 22-year-old Sogaard was recalled on an emergency basis and could dress as the backup to Anton Forsberg against the Los Angeles Kings for the club’s 1 p.m. start at home.

Signed to a four-year, $33 million U.S. contract extension last Wednesday, the 31-year-old Ullmark made his debut with the Senators in a 3-1 win over the Florida Panthers on Thursday in the home opener.
Ullmark allowed 22 goals on 26 shots in the club’s 4-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on the road Saturday night and finished the game. He also missed four days early in training camp with an undisclosed injury.
Sogaard has suited up for one game with Belleville this season as the club dropped a 2-1 shootout decision to the Syracuse Crunch on the road on Saturday night.
