In court, he admitted to possessing more than 62 grams of fentanyl found in his bedroom during a police raid in November 2020, but claimed the drugs were for his personal use.

He said another 471 grams of fentanyl found in the living room was intended for trafficking, but claimed it belonged to a friend.

The judge rejected Chang’s defence, saying it “exceeds the limits of credulity,” describing him as “heavily entrenched in the local fentanyl trafficking scene.”

On Friday, RCMP released a photo of Chang with an appeal for the public to contact police at 250-754-2345 if they have information on his whereabouts.

Chang is described as 5 foot 10 inches, about 190 pounds with short receding grey hair and brown eyes. He also has tattoos of dragons on his upper arms.
