The Apothecary Diaries Officially Confirms Major Release Date Ahead of Season 3

The movie will take Maomao and Jinshi away from the familiar palace setting and into Minnan Province, a water city located south of the capital. There, Maomao becomes involved in another strange case after the death of a middle-ranking consort leads to a mystery involving hidden treasure.

This should be a very different experience from the television anime. Maomao has always been at her best when she has a strange problem to solve, and the movie appears to give her another major mystery to investigate.

The Japanese release is confirmed for December, but an international theatrical release has not been announced yet. This means fans outside Japan will have to wait for more information about when they can watch the movie.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 Starts This October

Before the movie reaches theaters, The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 will make its return on October 2, 2026. Crunchyroll will stream the new season, which will be released in two parts (via Crunchyroll).
