One Piece has never been shy about giving its characters increasingly ridiculous superpowers, but Mythical Zoans operate on an entirely different level. These rare Devil Fruits do not merely turn their users into animals. They recreate legendary beings and grant supernatural abilities tied to those myths, making them fundamentally different from ordinary Zoans and Ancient Zoans.

Over the last six years, Oda has added five confirmed Mythical Zoans, drawing inspiration from Japanese, Chinese, and Norse mythology as well as Greek legend. From Yamato’s divine wolf to Loki’s monstrous Nidhöggr, these fruits have introduced some wonderfully bizarre abilities. Here is how they stack up based on their confirmed powers, versatility, feats, battlefield utility, and importance to One Piece lore.

5 Stronger Flies High Using the Uma Uma no Mi, Model: Pegasus

The Uma Uma no Mi, Model: Pegasus is easily the simplest fruit on this list, which is also why it lands at No. 5. Introduced in Chapter 1063, the Mythical Zoan was eaten by Stronger, Doc Q’s horse, allowing him to transform into a Pegasus or Pegasus hybrid and fly. His most notable use has been carrying Doc Q and other Blackbeard Pirates through the air.

That flight provides obvious mobility, but the manga has not shown the fruit granting Pegasus-specific offensive abilities beyond that. Unlike the other fruits here, Stronger’s Mythical Zoan has so far offered one major advantage: wings. Useful? Absolutely. Mythical Zoan insanity? Not quite.

4 Ragnir Channels Storms via the Risu Risu no Mi: Ratatoskr

The Risu Risu no Mi, Model: Ratatoskr gets much stranger because its user is not a conventional living creature. Ragnir, Loki’s sentient warhammer, consumed the Mythical Zoan and gained the ability to transform into the legendary Ice Squirrel while retaining its hammer form and independent consciousness.

Its ice can flash-freeze targets so thoroughly that Loki says they cannot thaw until Ragnir permits it. Even more dangerously, colliding ice crystals generate and amplify lightning. Ragnir can therefore freeze enemies, summon lightning, and combine both effects with Loki’s own Nidhöggr powers. Its mythology is equally fitting: in Norse tradition, Ratatoskr is the squirrel associated with Yggdrasil. The fruit’s unusual object-user mechanic and devastating elemental synergy make it far more dangerous than its cute model suggests.

3 Killingham Traps Foes in Dreams With the Ryu Ryu no Mi: Kirin

The Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Kirin belongs to Saint Rimoshifu Killingham, a Knight of God introduced in Chapter 1140. Its Mythical Zoan power allows Killingham to transform into a qilin and manipulate dreams, making it one of the most unconventional combat abilities introduced in the series.

Killingham can remotely force people to sleep and then manifest their dreams into reality. That means harmless fantasies can become physical objects, while nightmares can become enormous monsters called MMAs capable of terrorizing Elbaph. He even exploited children’s fears to create threats across the island. The qilin originates in Chinese mythology and is associated with a fantastical, dragon-like creature. Killingham’s fruit earns No. 3 because its battlefield control and reality-bending dream mechanics are extraordinarily versatile, even if its direct combat feats remain less overwhelming than the top two.

2 Yamato Guards Wano With the Inu Inu no Mi: Okuchi no Makami

Yamato’s Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami combines physical power with an elemental ability that makes it one of the most battle-ready Mythical Zoans in the series. Yamato first demonstrated the fruit in Chapter 996, while Kaidou later identified it as the power of the Okuchi no Makami, a wolf deity regarded as Wano’s guardian.

The transformation dramatically boosts Yamato’s physical abilities while granting control over ice. Yamato can fire freezing blasts, coat the kanabo Takeru in ice, create defensive barriers, and armor the body with frozen material. Most importantly, the fruit has been tested against Kaidou himself, with Yamato fighting him on near-even terms while he was in his hybrid dragon form. The fruit’s mix of durability, melee enhancement, elemental offense, and defense gives it tremendous practical value.

1 Loki Unleashes Dragon Wrath With the Ryu Ryu no Mi: Nidhöggr

The Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Nidhöggr sits comfortably at the top because One Piece has treated it as something far more significant than another powerful Zoan. Introduced in Chapter 1170, the fruit was once wielded by the legendary Warrior God before becoming Elbaph’s national treasure. Loki eventually ate it after overcoming Ragnir. The fruit transforms Loki into the largest dragon in the world, with the user’s Ancient Giant heritage allowing him to draw out its enormous scale.

Loki has used Nidhöggr’s claws to overpower Harald and can unleash devastating lightning from his mouth, including Supreme King Haki-infused attacks. Chapter 1175 also established that the fruit’s previous user fought the Sun God. Norse Nidhöggr is the dragon-serpent associated with Yggdrasil, but Oda gives his version a colossal draconic body and lightning-based powers. With overwhelming scale, flight, monstrous physical strength, and destructive ranged attacks, this is the most terrifying complete combat package among the five.
