It looks like One Piece Chapter 1181 is moving the story into a more intense phase, where having raw strength will not be enough anymore, as it turns into a more ideological battle. Chapter 1181 followed from that previous ending of One Piece 1180, where Loki stepped in as the last hope for Elbaf against Imu.

As expected, from the beginning itself, this chapter went for the direct clash between Imu and Loki. However, as the story progressed, it quickly turned into a battle of ideology, history, and control. The chapter also makes it clear that the gap between Loki and Imu is not just physical – it is something much deeper.

Loki’s Full Power Still Isn’t Enough Against Imu

The scene also suggested that the struggle between freedom and control may have started between these two figures long ago, and the current event could be a continuation of something unfinished.

In the final few panels of the chapter, Loki transforms into a massive dragon-like form and uses his strongest attack against Imu – Thorheim. And for a moment, it looked like he might have succeeded.

However, when the smoke cleared, we saw Imu was still standing – completely unharmed. This was the chapter’s key moment – Loki’s strongest attack, backed by everything he has, fails to make any real difference against Imu.
