Unlike your typical DPS character, you won’t just be stacking CRIT and attack on Evanescia and pressing Ultimate on cooldown. That makes her build both exciting and a little unusual. She wants CRIT DMG more than most DPS characters because her Talent converts that stat into Elation damage. She also values Energy Regen and enough Speed to keep her turns moving, since her Ultimate is a major part of her damage rotation.

Evanescia is a limited 5-star Physical character on the Elation path. The main part of her kit is to build and spend a special resource that lets her trigger powerful follow-up attacks and extra Elation damage.

She is an on-field DPS who wants to keep attacking, cycling through Skill and Ultimate usage, and building toward her big burst windows. What separates Evanescia from a standard Physical carry is how much of her damage is tied to her mechanics.

Her Talent gives her Elation based on CRIT DMG, so the more CRIT DMG she has, the more effective she becomes. Her Ultimate also gains extra value in multi-target situations, and her follow-up attack is also a major part of her total damage output.

This makes her especially strong in fights where she can keep focusing on a priority target while still splashing damage across the field. Of course, none of that works without the right build.

Best Main Stats and Substats for Evanescia

Evanescia’s stat priorities are straightforward once you understand her kit. She wants damage stats first, then enough rotation quality to keep her loop stable.

For main stats, the ideal setup is:

• Feet: SPD
• Planar Sphere: Physical DMG Bonus
• Link Rope: Energy Regen

CRIT DMG is especially important because her Talent scales with it. That makes this stat a big priority compared to many other DPS characters. SPD boots help her take turns often, and Physical DMG Bonus on the sphere is best for her DPS.

Energy Regen on the rope is highly recommended because her Ultimate is a major part of her kit, and she benefits a lot from having smooth rotations. As for substats, the ideal priority order is:

CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, SPD, ATK%

CRIT Rate is obviously important to have consistent damage, even if her traces and bonuses already provide some. Evanescia wants her hits to land reliably as crits, especially because her kit is built around making those crits matter more.

CRIT DMG is still the top stat to chase because it increases both raw damage and the Elation bonus conversion from her Talent. SPD is useful up to the right breakpoint, and ATK% is a nice supplement once the core crit stats are in place.

As a rule of thumb, a strong endgame Evanescia should aim for around 200%+ CRIT DMG, very high CRIT Rate close to 100%, and SPD around 134 or higher, depending on your team and comfort level.

Trace Priority for Evanescia in Honkai Star Rail 4.2

Evanescia’s trace leveling order should focus on the parts of her kit that actually drive her damage. Her Basic Attack is the least important and can safely be left for last.

The ideal priority is:

1. Elation Skill
2. Talent
3. Ultimate
4. Skill
5. Basic Attack

Her Elation Skill is important because it directly contributes to her damage and resource generation. Her Talent is arguably the most important part of her kit, since it affects her Elation conversion, Energy interaction, and follow-up attack value.

Her Ultimate is also a major damage source, especially in multi-target situations where bounce hits can be a lot of extra damage. Her regular Skill is useful and should be upgraded eventually, but it is not as important as the other ones. The Basic Attack has the least return on investment.

Should You Pull Evanescia Eidolons in Honkai Star Rail 4.2

Evanescia is already a good character at E0, but of course, her Eidolons do offer meaningful upgrades if you are planning to invest more deeply.

E1 is a very strong stopping point. It increases her All-Type RES PEN and lets her follow-up attack trigger her Elation Skill, which improves both damage and consistency.

E2 is one of her best upgrades. It gives a substantial CRIT DMG increase and improves the amount of resource she gains from her special conversion mechanics. For players who want a major jump in performance, this is a very attractive target.

E4 adds a useful DEF ignore effect, strengthening her damage against tougher enemies.

E6 is the whale-level reward, and it turns Evanescia into a much more complete team centerpiece. It extends her special state, increases Elation damage, and adds a large Energy restoration effect after Ultimate use. At this point, she becomes not only a high-end DPS, but also gives more value to the entire team.

For most players, E0 with a good Light Cone is already enough to use her well. E1 and E2 are the most noticeable power spikes beyond that.

If you are planning to build Evanescia right after release, prefarming is a smart move.
