The Giant Multi-Headed Dog reaches several stories in the anime, while other summons such as the Rhino, Ox, Bird, and Snake-Tailed Chameleon turn Konoha streets into battlefields. Their size varies, and canon does not establish one universal measurement for the group.

That uncertainty keeps them at #7. Still, they belong because these creatures tower over ordinary shinobi and buildings. Their inclusion is about physical presence, not strength, durability, or the frightening mechanics behind the Dog’s multiplication.

6 Gengetsu’s Giant Clam Is A Massive Mirage-Making Summon

Gengetsu’s Giant Clam earns #6 because it is a genuine Summoning Technique creature, but canon never gives it a reliable height or length. Its shell is enormous when it appears during the Second Mizukage’s battle, producing mist that enables Gengetsu’s mirages. Still, there is no evidence placing it above Gamabunta, Kurama, or Manda II.

That missing measurement matters here. Unlike the entries above, the clam cannot claim a mountain, island, or major structure comparison. Gamabunta is a famous giant summon, and unlike several entries above, his height actually has a listed figure: 17 metres in Part II, according to his Part II profile. Earlier depictions show him comparable to Shukaku during the fight. He has been shown pinning the Nine-Tails and fighting alongside the other Sannin summons.

That evidence keeps him above Pain’s individual Animal Path creatures, but the documented 17-metre figure prevents him from climbing higher when the ranking is strictly about size. His placement at #5 therefore reflects a canon measurement, not reputation. Gamabunta is huge; Naruto simply has monsters that make his scale look modest by comparison.

4 Kurama’s Nine-Tails is Vast Enough To Make Gamabunta Look Small

Kurama claims #4 because the fully grown Nine-Tails makes Gamabunta look small beside him. Canon material describes Kurama’s mature size as roughly reaching the scale of the Hokage Rock, with Gamabunta only about the size of Kurama’s torso. That comparison puts the Nine-Tails clearly above the chief toad in physical scale.

Kurama stays below Manda II because Manda II is specifically described as almost the length of the Island Turtle, giving the modified serpent a stronger direct size comparison. Official Naruto material calls it a giant statue, while the story shows it overpowering multiple tailed beasts and later absorbing their chakra before transforming back into the Ten-Tails.

It ranks #2 because, although enormous, the statue remains depowered. Its body clearly surpasses giant summons such as Gamabunta, yet canon provides no reliable height that would justify placing it above the fully restored beast or Katsuyu’s complete form.

The unsplit 100% version of Katsuyu is the list’s biggest problem for anyone judging size by what Tsunade or Sakura normally summon. The slug is a single entity living in Shikkotsu Forest, and the battlefield version is only a fraction of her body. During the Fourth Shinobi World War, Tsunade explains that their combined chakra can summon roughly one-tenth of Katsuyu, while her full size dwarfs surrounding mountains.

That makes #1 unavoidable because even the “small” manifestation can blanket the Allied Shinobi Forces, while her true body is explicitly beyond ordinary battlefield scale. Plus, Katsuyu’s fragments are not separate slugs; they remain parts of one organism.
