Goku’s Ultra Instinct has never been just one thing. Ever since it first flickered to life against Jiren in the Tournament of Power, Dragon Ball Super has given him several takes on the same godly technique, from a shaky first sign to a form built around his own heart.
Some lean on pure dodging, some hit like a truck, and one even grows into a giant made of ki. Here are Goku’s five strongest Ultra Instinct versions, ranked from weakest to strongest, based on what each one actually pulled off in battle.
5 Ultra Instinct Sign: The Dragon Ball Super Spark That Shook Jiren

Suddenly, he was dodging Jiren’s strikes, forcing the Pride Trooper to fight seriously, and even edging ahead. But it was unfinished work. Goku’s thoughts crept back in whenever he attacked; the form burned through his stamina, and it ran out just as he lined up the finishing blow. It lands at number five because it was a flicker of greatness, not the real thing yet.
4 Ultra Instinct Sign (Powerhouse): Brute Force Over Evasion

He traded much of his legendary evasion for raw strength, and a few of his punches really did land. The catch was the steep cost. The form drained what little energy he had left, and Moro still won that round. This version ranks fourth because the extra power was real, but it sacrificed the very thing that makes Ultra Instinct special.
3 Perfected Ultra Instinct: The Silver-Haired Form With One Flaw

Goku fully awakened it against Jiren, and it let him dodge, counter, and keep pace with Jiren at full power. In the manga, he calls on it at will after Merus’ sacrifice and overpowers Moro with it. Still, it demands a calm heart, and that’s a bad fit for Goku. Granolah exploited its slipping accuracy, and Gas overpowered it even when Goku had Vegeta’s help. It ranks third because it’s the complete package on paper, with a flaw Goku can’t ignore.
2 Perfected Ultra Instinct (Giant Form): A Ki Titan Against Moro

His Perfected Ultra Instinct built a towering avatar out of blue ki, with Goku inside its head, and it held Moro in place. Then Goku burst out and destroyed the crystal on Moro’s forehead, ending the fight for good. He summoned the avatar a second time against Gas later on. It takes second place because it did something no other version could: it stopped a world-eating enemy cold.
1 True Ultra Instinct: The Form Goku Built Around His Own Heart

His heart was far from calm, as he told Gas, so he chose Ultra Instinct Sign and let his Saiyan nature fuel it. The silver form demanded stillness, while this one let him fight with feeling. That gave him a version made only for him, and it let him edge past Gas, who had held off Goku and Vegeta together. Goku admits it can’t last long. It’s number one because it succeeded where Perfected Ultra Instinct fell short.
