All of you Jump Street fans, wake up! 12 years later, the next movie in the franchise is finally coming. Variety has confirmed that 24 Jump Street is set to hit the theaters on December 10, 2027. This will truly be an early Christmas gift next year for fans who have been waiting for the sequel since 22 Jump Street was released in 2014. The immediate sequel should have been titled 23 Jump Street, but it was skipped for several reasons.
According to the outlet, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are returning as the central duo for the third movie of the franchise, reprising their roles as Greg Jenko and Morton Schmidt, respectively.

Cube’s character, Captain Dickson, serves as the intimidating, foul-mouthed superior of the fan-favorite central duo of the franchise: Schmidt, an awkward cop, and his partner-in-crime, Jenko, a rival-turned-friend. The three characters are the driving force for the Jump Street movies, having appeared in 21 Jump Street (2012) and 22 Jump Street (2014).
24 Jump Street is being directed by Rodney Rothman, best known for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Jonah Hill has also participated in the writing with Rothman and Meghan Malloy. Phil Lord and Chris Miller are returning producers, with Tatum, Hill, Matt Dines, Reid Carolin, and Neal H. Moritz joining as producers.
Why 23 Jump Street Was Never Made

But it ultimately fell through after Sony wanted to shift focus to a Men in Black crossover. Ultimately, that also never got off the ground.
Earlier this year, the studio finally greenlit the third movie, but it was announced as 24 Jump Street. Phil Lord, who directed the last two movies with Christopher Miller, told Empire, “We developed a ’23 Jump Street,’ and I think this is just out of respect for that.” Are you excited for the 24 Jump Street release on December 10, 2026?
