Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri in The Bear Season 5 (2026) | Image via HuluSeason 5 picks up immediately after the emotional ending of The Bear Season 4, where Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto makes the life-altering decision to leave the restaurant and step away from the culinary world. His departure leaves Sydney Adamu, Richard “Richie” Jerimovich, and Natalie “Sugar” Berzatto with the enormous responsibility of keeping The Bear alive while deciding what kind of restaurant and family they want to build without him.
According to the official season synopsis, Sydney, Richie, and Sugar must confront the uncertainty left behind by Carmy’s exit as they attempt to preserve everything they fought so hard to create. While the restaurant continues serving customers, the emotional wounds among its staff remain far from healed.
