Speaking to Variety in a 2026 interview, the actor said he is curious to see what lies ahead for his character. “When I do get to grace that set, I am so curious what does that mean for Peter and how does that work,” he said, adding, “It’s really cool. I am really excited about whatever it is they are doing.”

Holland also revealed that, because of his reputation for accidentally spoiling Marvel projects, the studio has not shared many details with him. “I have a reputation for spoiling certain things, and I think the studio is keeping me from the juicy details,” he joked. However, he knew about Robert Downey Jr.’s MCU return before it was officially announced.

“[Robert and I] just have casual catch-ups every now and then. He called and told me,” Holland admitted, adding that he is simply excited to find out what the future holds for Peter Parker and the MCU.

While Tom Holland’s return in Avengers: Doomsday remains uncertain, he will return as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The upcoming film follows Peter as he fully embraces life as Spider-Man, protecting New York City on his own. Adding to the speculation, scooper @MyTimeToShineHello on X (formerly Twitter) recently claimed that the movie’s opening battle takes place on Tobey Maguire’s Earth, which will also feature Magneto. The scooper previously claimed that Deadpool and Wolverine are sent to Tobey Maguire’s Earth in Avengers: Doomsday to destroy it (X formerly Twitter). It reportedly leads to a battle between Wolverine and Spider-Man that “ends in tragedy.”

However, the reports remain conflicting. Alex Perez has disputed claims that Maguire’s Spider-Man dies in the film, creating uncertainty about the character’s fate. Rumors also suggest that the opening battle ends with the destruction of Tobey Maguire’s Earth.
