Street Fighter Star Callina Liang Officially Debunks ‘Enhanced Thighs’ Rumors With BTS Picture

Callina Liang stars as Chun-Li in the new Street Fighter movie, and her powerful legs have sparked some buzz on the internet. From the BTS or set photos, it became evident that Liang underwent a visibly muscular lower-body transformation. Yet, some wondered whether it was digitally altered or enhanced. The actor took it upon herself to clarify the matter.

Liang shared a short clip on her Instagram story with the text “I don’t have time to photoshop ok.” The clip showed her posing by her vanity van, in Chun-Li’s iconic blue costume, spiked wrist cuffs, and signature hair buns. The Presence star has managed to bring the Street Fighter character’s powerful stance to life. For a role that is known for punishing kicks, Liang is looking extremely fit. She has dedicated hard training hours to building those muscular legs, and she has previously opened up about the process. Check what she posted here:

Liang has made some crazy commitments to bring the fan-favorite Street Fighter character to life in the upcoming movie. In an interview with Empire, she revealed that since the character is “all kicks,” she went through rigorous training in Taekwondo, Muay Thai, and Wushu (Kung Fu). Apart from her two hours of training every day, Liang also committed to a total change in her diet to strengthen her legs. She told the magazine that when she was bulking, she ate about 12 eggs a day. Liang recalled,

Every two hours I had to have a meal, and I was on the verge of throwing up. But it worked.

Of course, it was not an easy journey. Liang revealed that by the end of the filming, her thighs had grown about six-and-a-half centimeters each. That said, it wasn’t just diet and training that was needed for her to truly embody Chun-Li.

In the same interview, the actor revealed that she put together an ultimate move list for the role. “I downloaded every single version of Street Fighter onto a PS5 and I recorded all of Chun-Li’s moves during fights on my phone in slow-mo, so I could play them back and study them,” she told Empire.

In the upcoming Street Fighter movie set in 1993, Chun-Li recruits Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) for the World Warrior Tournament. However, they become entangled in a fatal conspiracy that forces them to confront each other’s troubled pasts.
