Palworld 1.0 can feel especially brutal with limited stat points available to you. However, your Pals do most of the damage and crafting for you. Hence, the best early build and a strong start should be about surviving and not trying to be a solo raid boss.
So, these are the top 5 stats that will help you in your journey. You need to invest in them as soon as you can!
1 Health
Pump HP to survive brutal fights in Palworld 1.0 | Credit: PocketpairHealth is your core survivability stat! More HP means more hits you can take before dropping your entire inventory on death. Each point in Health adds a big chunk to your HP (commonly +100).
These will be highly noticeable in tough boss fights, dungeons, and fall‑damage moments. If you invest here first, you’ll have the breathing room to learn fights and explore freely.
2 Weight
Boost Weight to haul massive resource stacks | Credit: PocketpairWeight controls how much you can carry before becoming encumbered and slowed. This is a crucial part of Palworld 1.0’s early resource grind. Low Weight means constant back‑and‑forth trips or leaving half your haul behind.
Each point adds a big boost to carry capacity (often around +50 Weight per point). With a few Weight upgrades, you can mine full veins, grab chest loot, and haul crafting mats home in one run.
3 Stamina
Extra Stamina keeps you sprinting, gliding, and all the other fun stuff | Credit: PocketpairStamina is your movement and work stat! It controls how long you can sprint, climb, glide, swim, and swing tools before needing a breather. A few points in Stamina make gathering safer and traversal smoother.
Keep in mind that Stamina is a strong but secondary priority. Grab some Stamina once HP and Weight feel comfortable, then top it up as needed. You don’t need to max it early!
4 Work Speed
Let Pals handle all the crafting early and grab Work Speed in the later hours | Credit: PocketpairWork Speed affects how quickly you complete your tasks. Especially Handiwork tasks, such as crafting timers and building progress bars. However, your Pals handle most base work once you’re established. So, your personal Work Speed matters far less than their productivity.
Hence, Work Speed is a low-priority stat for early levels. It’s nice to have later if you enjoy manually crafting or want to speed through specific recipes.
5 Attack
Stronger gear and Pals should take care of damage, not you | Credit: PocketpairAttack increases the damage of your weapons and tool swings. This includes rocks, trees, and direct combat hits. However, Palworld 1.0’s combat loop is heavily Pal‑centric.
Remember, your creatures do most of the DPS with their skills! While you focus on positioning, dodging, and occasional bursts. That’s why we put Attack at the bottom of the early‑game priority list. Focus on important stats, gear upgrades, and stronger Pals first!
| 1 | Health | Keeps you alive through bosses and mistakes; dying means long recovery runs. |
| 2 | Weight | Greatly increases carry capacity so you can farm heavy resources in fewer trips. |
| 3 | Stamina | Improves sprinting, gliding, and gathering flow; a few points make exploration smoother. |
| 4 | Work Speed | Only affects your own crafting; Pals automate most base work, so it’s low priority. |
| 5 | Attack | Pal skills and better weapons outscale stat points; save this for later or respec builds. |
