If you’ve hit a chasm blocking your path in Echoes of Aincrad and can’t figure out how to get across, then you’re not alone. The Blink Talisman is the item responsible for these crossings, and it trips up a lot of players because the game never clearly explains how to activate its effect. Thankfully, this guide covers where to find the Talisman as well as the exact input sequence needed to cross the gaps during quests.

Five is the maximum number of Blink Talismans you can carry at once, and at 500 Col apiece, it’s cheap enough to stock up in one trip. You’ll find them for sale at a merchant stationed north on the map.

Head there and start browsing their stock, and you should find the item a bit further down the list. Since nailing the jump-dodge timing usually takes a couple of failed attempts, grabbing more than one before you set off would be wiser.

Mechanically, the item swaps your dodge for a brief teleport lasting half a minute after activation, and unlike most consumables, it works mid-jump rather than only on solid ground. Before attempting a crossing, watch for the visual cue: a scattering of gold-toned sparkles near the ledge, paired with an on-screen message confirming a crossing is possible there.

Activate it through the item shortcut menu on your HUD, then highlight and confirm the Blink Talisman. Your character will flash with a wave of color, which is the indication that your teleport window has started. From there, sprint toward the ledge, leap off, and while still airborne, dodge toward the far side. It’s that mid-air dodge, not the jump itself, that fires the teleport, and skipping it is the top reason players end up in the water instead of on solid ground.

Landing across means it worked, while a failed attempt resets you at the starting ledge with the effect already spent, so activate a fresh talisman before trying again rather than assuming time is left on the old one.
