One Piece: Oda Officially Sets up Blackbeard’s New Lethal Haki Ability

In the One Piece world, Conqueror’s Haki is more than just another powerful ability. It belongs to people with the ambition to stand at the very top, and some of the strongest pirates in history have carried this rare power. Now, Blackbeard may be next.

The latest developments in the One Piece manga around Zoro, Mihawk, and Conqueror’s Haki have created an interesting connection to Teach. Add Blackbeard’s bloodline, his mysterious Davy Clan link, and his appearance on the cover of One Piece Chapter 1194, and it certainly looks like Eiichiro Oda is quietly preparing one of the Final Saga’s biggest Haki reveals.

One Piece Secretly Teased Blackbeard’s Conqueror’s Haki

Zoro’s latest battle against Saint Sommers in One Piece Chapter 1193 is not just about another power-up. It gives Oda a chance to remind fans how important Conqueror’s Haki will be in the Final Saga. In Chapter 1193, Zoro’s attack on Sommers nearly reaches the Holy Knight’s heart, and the Straw Hat Swordsman simply brushes it off by saying he is “still practicing.”

That is a pretty big statement coming from someone who already defeated King. But there is another small detail worth looking at. According to the spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1194, while Zoro struggles to control his Haki against Sommers, he remembers his training with Mihawk. Mihawk explains that everything in the world changes, but there is one thing that can remain unchanged. He describes Conqueror’s Haki as something that comes from the strength of one’s own self.

Mihawk’s explanation of Conqueror’s Haki is followed by one of Perona’s usual silly comments. She starts talking about facial hair as a possible trait among people who possess the ability. It looks like nothing more than a joke. Then Oda puts Blackbeard on the Chapter 1194 cover, where it shows a monkey forcing Blackbeard to write with a brush. Could that be a hidden hint? There is no confirmation yet, but this is exactly the kind of tiny detail that One Piece fans have learned not to ignore.

Teach has certainly got the ambition. He has spent his entire life chasing power, wants to become the Pirate King, and has already reached the level of a Yonko. Yet the manga has never clearly shown him using Conqueror’s Haki. That missing piece becomes even more interesting after the Chapter 1194 reveal and because of what the Final Saga has already revealed about his family.

Blackbeard’s Davy D. Clan Link Makes His Final Saga Role Clearer

This is where the theory gets much stronger. In Chapter 1154, Oda officially introduced Rocks D. Xebec in the Elbaf flashback and identified him as the father of Blackbeard. The chapter’s narration directly gives Rocks’ connection to Teach.

Then Chapter 1159 revealed another huge piece of the puzzle. Rocks told Harald that his real name was Davy D. Xebec and explained that he belonged to the Davy Clan, a bloodline descended from the legendary pirate Davy D. Jones. The chapter also showed young Teach at God Valley and revealed that the World Government considered the Davy Clan one of the special targets of its centuries-long hunt.

That changes how Blackbeard’s story can be viewed. Rocks was a man with enormous ambition. He wanted to become the King of the World, gathered monsters such as Whitebeard, Big Mom, and Kaido into his crew, and possessed Conqueror’s Haki. Now his son is chasing his own version of the same dream.

Rocks wanted to rule the world. Blackbeard wants to become the Pirate King. That parallel makes a future Conqueror’s Haki reveal for Teach feel very natural. If Rocks carried that overwhelming will, and Teach comes from the same Davy D. bloodline, Oda has an easy way to make the ability part of Blackbeard’s Final Saga rise.

Teach also has the powers to make such a reveal terrifying. The Yami Yami no Mi gives him darkness with gravity-like properties and allows him to cancel Devil Fruit powers through contact. The Gura Gura no Mi gives him enormous destructive power. Adding Conqueror’s Haki to that combination would give Blackbeard another weapon in the final saga and could become one of his most dangerous Final Saga surprises.
