One Piece: All 4 Hito Hito No MI Devil Fruits, Ranked by Power

In the world of One Piece, some Devil Fruits can completely change how a character fights and survives. The Hito Hito no Mi is one of the most interesting examples, as its four known models have very different abilities and power levels.

From Chopper’s unusual standard model to Sengoku’s giant Buddha form and Luffy’s reality-bending Nika powers, each fruit brings something different to the table. But which one is actually the strongest? Based on their canon abilities, major battles, and feats shown in the manga and anime, here is our ranking of all four Hito Hito no Mi Devil Fruits.

4 Onyudo Is Powerful But Has Limited Feats

The Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Onyudo is the hardest fruit to rank because we have seen very little of what it can actually do. The fruit is used by Onimaru, the fox who takes the form of Gyukimaru in Wano. Its power allows him to transform into a huge monk-like creature.

Its massive form alone gives the user an obvious physical advantage. However, Onimaru never gets the kind of major fights that would let us properly judge the fruit. Unlike the other entries, there are no huge battles or standout attacks to point to. That limited showing is why Onyudo takes fourth place.

3 Chopper’s Devil Fruit Has Hidden Potential

At first glance, Chopper’s Hito Hito no Mi looks like the weakest fruit on this list. It mainly gave a reindeer human intelligence, speech, and the ability to think like a person. But Chopper has spent years finding new ways to use it, making the fruit much more useful than it first appears.

His Rumble Balls became especially important during the Enies Lobby Arc, when Monster Point showed just how much power Chopper could pull from his Zoan abilities. He later gained better control over the form in Wano, where he even fought Queen in the Onigashima battle. Still, Chopper’s fruit cannot match the raw power of Sengoku’s Mythical Zoan or the insane freedom of Nika, putting it in third place.

2 Sengoku’s Daibutsu Packs Massive Power

Sengoku’s Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Daibutsu takes the idea of a human Zoan to another level. This Mythical Zoan lets Sengoku transform into a gigantic golden Buddha with incredible strength and powerful shockwaves. We get the best look at its destructive power during the Marineford Arc.

During the Paramount War, Sengoku uses his Buddha form against Blackbeard and his crew, sending several members of the crew flying with his shockwave. This is a completely different level of power compared with Chopper’s fruit. Sengoku also had the experience and strength to make full use of it, which is why Daibutsu comfortably takes second place.

1 Nika Is the Most Powerful Hito Hito no Mi

Luffy’s Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika is easily the strongest fruit on this list. The truth behind the fruit is revealed in Chapter 1044, when Luffy awakens it and enters Gear 5. What follows in his fight against Kaido shows why this fruit stands in a league of its own.

Gear 5 gives Luffy incredible freedom in battle, allowing him to stretch, twist, and fight in ways that often look completely impossible. His battles against Kaido in Wano and the recent Egghead and Elbaf arcs showed how dangerous the awakened fruit can be.

The fruit originally belonged to Joy Boy during the Void Century 800 years ago, and its overwhelming power and threat to the World Government led the Gorosei to erase its true name from history. Unlike the other three fruits, Nika combines huge power, freedom, speed, and creativity. That makes it the clear number-one Hito Hito no Mi.
