Every Character in Reacher’s Team, Ranked by Skill Level

Jack Reacher did not fill the 110th MP Special Investigations Unit with nine versions of himself. He deliberately recruited specialists who could cover different investigative blind spots, which makes ‘skill’ broader than who throws the hardest punch. Reacher Season 2 Episode 1, ATM, establishes the original lineup as Reacher, Frances Neagley, Karla Dixon, David O’Donnell, Calvin Franz, Tony Swan, Stan Lowrey, Jorge Sanchez, and Manuel Orozco. This ranking weighs combat ability, investigation, marksmanship, tactical judgment, and specialist expertise. I am also prioritizing what Prime Video has actually put on screen. That hurts several deceased members whose reputations are impressive but whose individual feats mostly exist in Season 2 flashbacks.

9 Manuel Orozco

Orozco lands last because Reacher barely gives us enough individual material to measure him. Reacher Season 2 Episode 1 introduces him during the formation of the 110th, and later episodes establish that he remained involved with Sanchez, Franz, and Swan before Langston’s conspiracy started killing former Special Investigators. The problem is that we never get a defining combat, investigative, or specialist sequence for him. Being personally selected by Reacher still means Orozco was elite. He is ninth because everybody above him has clearer evidence.

8 Jorge Sanchez

Sanchez suffers from the same screen-time problem. Reacher Season 2 Episode 1 identifies him alongside Orozco when Reacher assembles the unit, while the present-day investigation later connects both men to the murdered members of the 110th. I put Sanchez narrowly above Orozco, but there is no giant skill gap here. Prime Video never gives either man enough solo work to compete fairly with the survivors.

7 Calvin Franz

Franz earns his spot before the investigation even begins. In Reacher Season 2 Episode 1, Reacher remembers recruiting him after watching Franz defuse a ridiculous dispute between soldiers over stolen cookies without escalating the confrontation. Reacher wanted that temperament because complicated investigations need someone who can solve problems without turning every disagreement into a brawl. The same episode also makes Franz the catalyst for Season 2. His private investigation gets close enough to Langston’s operation that he is tortured and murdered, yet he still leaves behind evidence on a thumb drive that points his old teammates toward the conspiracy.

6 Tony Swan

Swan’s strongest evidence arrives across Reacher Season 2 Episodes 3, 6, and 8. Episode 3, Picture Says a Thousand Words, makes him look suspicious when Reacher discovers that Swan became Assistant Director of Security at New Age Technologies. Episode 6, New York’s Finest, flips that assumption when Marlo Burns confirms Swan had been trying to stop Langston. The Season 2 finale then confirms Langston murdered him and used Swan’s eye and finger to frame him after death. Getting inside the company and identifying the conspiracy puts Swan above the members whose specialist talents remain mostly unseen.

5 Stan Lowrey

Lowrey may have the clearest single specialty in the entire 110th. Reacher Season 2 Episode 1 states that he won the Army Marksmanship Competition six times across pistol and rifle classes. Reacher, himself an exceptional shooter, says Lowrey still gives the team its “best first shot.” That is an absurd endorsement. Lowrey ranks fifth because the series gives Dixon, O’Donnell, Neagley, and Reacher a wider portfolio, but if this ranking were based on shooting alone, he would have a legitimate claim to No. 1.

4 Karla Dixon

Reacher Season 2 Episodes 4 and 5 explain why Reacher wanted a forensic accountant on a military investigations unit. On Episode 4, A Night at the Symphony, Dixon connects Senator Lavoy to the Little Wing operation and successfully plays Daniel Boyd during the team’s Boston setup. On Episode 5, Burial, she and Neagley infiltrate a New Age distribution facility posing as government regulators and discover that 650 missiles have already been shipped.

Then Season 2 Episode 8, Fly Boy, reminds us that Dixon can handle herself physically after surviving Langston’s capture and helping fight back aboard the helicopter. She ranks fourth because her analytical specialty repeatedly changes the direction of the case.

3 David O’Donnell

O’Donnell is the 110th’s Swiss Army knife. Reacher Season 2 Episode 4 has him digging up Boyd’s identity, helping Reacher obtain leverage, and posing as a federal agent during the interrogation that cracks open Little Wing. His ability to acquire information through less-than-official channels repeatedly saves the investigation time. By Episode 8, he has survived Langston’s kidnapping and torture and immediately returns to the fight alongside Dixon, Neagley, and Reacher.

Dixon beats him in specialized analysis, but O’Donnell gets third because he can investigate, interrogate, improvise, fight, and operate in legally murky territory without becoming dead weight anywhere.

2 Frances Neagley

Neagley has now accumulated evidence across three different Reacher seasons. Reacher Season 1 Episode 8, Pie, brings her into the Kliner Industries assault, where she uses long-range shots to remove guards before joining Reacher’s final attack. Season 2 makes her Reacher’s most dependable partner throughout the 110th investigation, culminating in Episode 8 when she helps execute the plan that frees Reacher, Dixon, and O’Donnell and later helps eliminate A.M.’s operation.

Season 3 pushes her even further. Episode 6, Smoke on the Water, has Neagley survive Quinn’s attempt to have her killed; Episodes 7 and 8 then bring her into the Beck operation, where she interrogates leads, identifies the real exchange location, infiltrates the final gathering, and helps Reacher secure Quinn. No other teammate has demonstrated that range for this long.

1 Jack Reacher

Jack Reacher remains No. 1 because every season keeps adding another category to the résumé. Season 1 Episode 1 establishes his near-ridiculous observational ability when he profiles Finlay from tiny behavioral and physical clues. Season 2 Episode 8 gives us the physical insanity: Reacher fights free at New Age, gets onto Langston’s helicopter, keeps Dixon from falling to her death, and helps finish the Little Wing conspiracy.

Then Season 3 Episode 8, Unfinished Business, puts him through the prolonged Paulie fight before he goes after Quinn and completes an operation involving undercover work, tactical planning, and personal revenge without losing sight of the mission. Lowrey is the better specialist marksman. Dixon owns the numbers. O’Donnell can work angles Reacher dislikes, and Neagley comes closest to matching his versatility. Reacher stays first because nobody else has demonstrated elite investigation, combat, shooting, deduction, leadership, and improvisation across as many different situations.
