Nicole Kidman Said Don’t Touch Me to Salma Hayek? Hollywood A-Listers’ Red Carpet Moment Gets Taken Out of Context

Being a celebrity out in the open is never an easy task, but what is worse is when innocent interactions get taken out of context and portrayed negatively on social media. This is exactly the issue that Salma Hayek and Nicole Kidman are currently dealing with. 

Recently, the two appeared together for a Balenciaga show at Paris Fashion Week, during which they shared a few words that the public didn’t necessarily perceive correctly. Now, according to the internet, Kidman and Hayek are sort of in a feud. Let’s take a deeper look into this matter. 

Fans react to a shady interaction between Salma Hayek and Nicole Kidman

For ages now, Salma Hayek and Nicole Kidman have been considered two of Hollywood’s most elite actresses. Hayek, who is currently 58 years old has been in the industry since the late 80s starring in movies like Desperado, Grown Ups, Magic Mike’s Last Dance, and most notably, Frida. Kidman has also acted in classic films, most recently appearing in a television show called Big Little Lies. 

Coming back to the awkward scene that took place at Paris Fashion Week, Kidman and the Like A Boss actress were joined by multiple-time Grammy nominee, Katy Perry.

The trio were chatting away when a photographer asked Kidman and Hayek to turn around from a picture. The latter put her hand around Kidman to turn her towards the cameraman, but it seemed like Hayek had her hand pushed away. 

While several sources assume that Hayek was asking the Australian-American icon for some sort of advice, the words exchanged between them remain a complete mystery. One fan assumed that Kidman asked Hayek not to touch her, and this caused a major stir on X:

After Kidman pushed away Hayek’s hand, the latter seemed a little perplexed while her friend leaned in to kiss Perry on the cheek and exit the scene. However, pictures from the events that took place on September 30, 2024, were posted a few days later by Hayek. 

Hayek certainly entered Paris Fashion Week to leave our jaws dropped to the floor. She donned a stunning black dress with a low neckline and an upside-down bow for a headpiece.

The carousel post featured Perry, star of The Parent Trap Lindsay Lohan, and Bill Skarsgard. But after what fans noticed, the picture she posted with Kidman does seem a little awkward. Perhaps Kidman was having a bad day? 

This was Nicole Kidman’s first public appearance since the death of her mother

Only the universe knows what happened between Salma Hayek and Nicole Kidman, but this was the latter’s first public appearance since the passing of her mother earlier in September. 

Kidman’s mother, Janelle passed away at the age of 84 after battling an illness for a very long time (via Sky News Australia). The actress also shared an emotional message via Instagram on behalf of her entire family. She said, 

My sister and I along with our family want to thank you for the outpouring of love and kindness we have felt this week. Every message we have received from those who loved and admired our Mother has meant more to us than we will ever be able to express.

However, Kidman also had reasons to celebrate along with her incredible husband, Keith Urban. Their daughter, Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban made her runway debut during the same Paris Fashion Week that Hayek and Kidman were spotted together (via E! News).

Sunday Rose was featured in the Miu Miu show that took place on October 1, 2024. Urban, who boasts four Grammy wins also recently launched a new album called HIGH, and he’s all set to headline his third show in Las Vegas.
