Endgame

SUMMARY

  • Marvel's Black Panther Chadwick Boseman passed away from complications due to colon cancer in 2020.
  • The actor not only featured in his solo film, but also was an important part of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, which became his final Marvel appearances.
  • While the funeral scene of Tony Stark seems to be Boseman's final shot from Marvel in live-action, a deleted scene reportedly extended it.

Though he lent his voice to the What If…? series, Chadwick Boseman’s final live-action appearance in the MCU was in Avengers: Endgame. Everyone remembers his royal entrance into the Battle with Thanos as he comes through the golden spirals along with other heroes who had been victims of the snap.

While his last moment in the MCU was a brief glimpse at Tony Stark’s funeral, a now-surfaced deleted scene reportedly extends this. Fans seem annoyed that Marvel deleted the scene, which reportedly shows T’Challa and Doctor Strange discussing future threats and how to defend the world.

Chadwick Boseman’s death in April 2020 came as a shock to the world. The actor reportedly died of colon cancer, a condition which he had reportedly kept secret since his diagnosis in 2016. Despite his condition, the actor finished productions on multiple films before his death like Da 5 Bloods and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Boseman became a global icon when he played King T’Challa a.k.a Black Panther in the MCU. Beginning with 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, the actor went on to create history with the 2018 film Black Panther. Apart from being culturally significant, it earned more than $1.3 billion at the box office and was the first MCU film to be nominated for Best Picture.

A deleted scene from the film recently resurfaced which reportedly showed Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange talking to T’Challa about upcoming threats. Many fans seemed to be annoyed that he did not get an extended final moment in the MCU.

That could have been a nice setup to the Illuminati…since you know Time Runs Out and Secret Wars from Hickman is being butchered…I mean adapted.

They should come out with endgame extended edition like In LOTR or maybe even a Russo’s cut

There were so many sick scenes they removed from Infinity War and Endgame

Many fans also speculated that this conversation would have introduced the Illuminati earlier in the franchise and would have been in the main Earth-616 universe.

Other Deleted Scene From Avengers: Endgame Show Extension Of Tony Stark’s Death

Avengers: Endgame is special to Marvel fans for a number of reasons. It was the culmination of ten years of hard work and build-up, resulting in a spectacular ensemble of superheroes who join hands to defeat Thanos. The film became the highest-grossing film of all time for a brief period from its release till 2021.

The film is also special for being the (as-of-yet) final appearance of Tony Stark in the MCU. Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man has a poetic end in the film as he heroically sacrifices himself to defeat Thanos and uses the gauntlet to vanquish half of his army. While the scene in the film shows various heroes mourning the death, a deleted scene shows an extension of it.

The scene shows the Avengers who just witnessed Tony Stark’s death taking a knee to honor the fallen soldier. Starting with Hawkeye, the shot slowly moves towards Chadwick Boseman to Brie Larson and then the rest of the main Avengers as they bend their knee to Stark. The powerful scene, though a tad bit long, acts as a final mark of respect for the foundation of the MCU.
