Xbox has slyly put things into motion to prevent players from getting their hands on Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 for free on its launch on October 25th. This is a strategic move by Xbox to prevent players from taking advantage of the situation.

Xbox was seen doing something similar even during the launch of Starfield. By doing so, Xbox has made it very clear that it is one step ahead of its players.

Xbox has removed its $1 Game Pass trial ahead of Black Ops 6’s launch to prevent players from taking advantage of it during the initial days after the game’s release. This is a strategic decision taken by the company to boost the sales of the game and not let players play it for free.

Xbox Game Pass was known for giving players a free to cancel 30-day trial at the small price of $1. It was removed from Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass last year in March, and it was brought back a little nerfed. The 30 days were reduced to 14.

After implementing this change, the company then went ahead and removed it on October 8th again before the release of Black Ops 6. It was then brought back after a few days. However, it is again being removed for the time being until the sale numbers of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 stabilise.

The quiet removal of the $1 Xbox Game Pass trial has taken place to boost the sales of the upcoming game. However, it is also true that Xbox relies on Black Ops 6 to bring more players to the Game Pass since the franchise attracts a lot of attention.

There will be a huge fall in revenue if Black Ops 6 were to be included in the Game Pass with the $1 trial period. Whether to include Call of Duty titles on Game Pass or not has always been a hot topic for debate since it moves along a thin line.

On top of that, if the $1 Game Pass trial is given to players, then the sales of the game will drop to a significant low, which Activision would not be able to afford. There is a lot of hype around the upcoming Call of Duty title due to the massive promotional content that has been publishing in the months following its release.

However, it is certain that Microsoft is planning to bring Call of Duty: Black Ops 6Modern Warfare III, and Warzone to Xbox cloud gaming soon. This will be the first Call of Duty game to be included in the Xbox cloud gaming at launch.
