Marvel’s Best Show Officially Confirms Ending With Season 3

Daredevil: Born Again, arguably the MCU‘s best series, will not return for Season 4. According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, sources have revealed that the Man Without Fear will return for one last battle in Season 3, which is set to premiere in 2027. The update comes after the series, starring Charlie Cox, wrapped filming for a third season. Marvel has not officially commented on the series ending.

It is to be noted that the report comes after the studio has quietly parted ways with Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane. According to the aforementioned outlet, his contract was not renewed. It also raises some concerns about the third season’s post-production, as the showrunner left right in the middle of it, without seeing thorugh the completion.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, which is also the series finale according to the latest report, is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2027. One source has told THR that the third season is currently in the final stages of post-production.

Charlie Cox‘s Man Without Fear returned with his own series10 years after the original Daredevil series premiered on Netflix. Upon its premiere on March 4, 2025, Daredevil: Born Again received largely positive reviews. FandomWire’s own Joshua Ryan called it “The MCU’s best series yet.” While it may still rank below the original series for some fans, Daredevil: Born Again received an impressive 87% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, which is not bad for a revival series.

Season 2, which premiered on March 24, 2026, received about 86% from critics and 85% from audiences, although the current scores have somewhat settled from the initial reviews. As Season 3 will mark the end of the journey for Daredevil: Born Again, the reviews will matter even more.

Season 2 ended with Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) being sent to prison after publicly revealing his Daredevil identity. Season 3 will explore how the world reacts to the revelation. Before his exit, showrunner Scardapane said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 draws inspiration from The Devil in Cell-Block D comic storyline. He particularly discussed Matt as a lawyer navigating the justice system from prison.

The creator added that Kingpin, aka Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), who has been exiled from New York, will be forced to rebuild his life without Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer) and his former networks. Season 3 will also introduce new threats, with Heather Glenn taking on the Muse (Margarita Levieva) identity. Bullseye (Wilson Bethel), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) are also set to return in the final season.
