Genshin Impact 6.5 Patch Notes: New Banners, Events, and Quality of Life Changes

Genshin Impact‘s latest Version 6.5 update is out, and boy, do we have a ton of new content. Titled “Song of the Welkin Moon: Rondo — Augured Homecoming,” this is one of the more content-heavy updates we’ve gotten from HoYoverse.

In terms of new characters, the highlight of the patch is Linnea, a new 5-star Geo bow user who pushes the new Lunar-Crystallize meta in Genshin Impact even further. She debuts alongside her signature weapon, Golden Frostbound Oath. Alongside her debut banner, we have a new set of rerun banners for us to catch up on older characters.

Outside of the gacha side of things, Version 6.5 finally gives us the Mondstadt expansion we’ve been waiting for, with a new explorable area, new enemies and quests, and more. We’re also getting updates to major endgame modes like Spiral Abyss and Imaginarium Theater, along with quality-of-life changes and bug fixes.

Compensation Details

How to Update Game Client

PC: Close the game, open the Genshin Impact Launcher, and click Update.

iOS: Open the App Store and tap Update.

Android: Open the game and follow the directions on-screen.

PlayStation®: Highlight “Genshin Impact” from the Home screen, press the OPTIONS button and select “Check for Update.”

Xbox Series X|S: Open the system main menu, select “My games & apps,” select the “Manage” tab, and on the “Updates” page, find “Genshin Impact” and confirm to update.

• The PlayStation®4 version of Genshin Impact will no longer receive any updates. We recommend that Travelers currently playing on PlayStation®4 transition to PlayStation®5 or other supported platforms to continue enjoying the game. Your game progress will not be affected.

Update Details

I. New Character

“Augur of Wonders” Linnea (Geo) (5-Star)

Moon Wheel: Geo

Weapon: Bow

Naturalist and Advisor to the Nod-Krai Branch of the Adventurers’ Guild.

Linnea is a Geo support character who enables her party to trigger Lunar-Crystallize reactions. At the same time, she is also capable of providing Geo RES reduction, healing, and consistent off-field damage.

Tapping on Elemental Skill: Lumi attacks in Super Power Form, continuously dealing AoE Geo DMG to enemies. If there are Moondrifts nearby, she will additionally deal AoE Geo DMG to enemies, which is considered Lunar Crystallize reaction DMG.

Tapping on Elemental Skill or Normal Attack consecutively after using Elemental Skill: Lumi attacks in Ultimate Power Form, dealing to the enemy one powerful instance of AoE Geo DMG that will be regarded as Lunar-Crystallize DMG, before switching to Standard Power Form.

Elemental Burst: Linnea summons Lumi, which then attacks in Super Power Form and restores HP to the whole party and then continues to do so for all characters on the field. If Lumi is already on the field, this will refresh Lumi’s on-field time, though it will not change the form Lumi is currently in.

While Lumi is on the field, the Geo RES of nearby enemies is decreased.

Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam:

Linnea’s Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst are further enhanced, and summoning Lumi to the field further decreases the Geo RES of nearby enemies.

Outside of combat, Linnea’s Charged Attack can change to a net attack that allows her to capture certain creatures. She can also collect ores by summoning Lumi to destroy forgeable ore deposits.

II. New Equipment

New Weapon (Examples based on Refinement Rank 1)

Golden Frostbound Oath (Bow) (5-Star)

Increases DEF by 16%. When the equipping character’s Elemental Skill or Lunar-Crystallize attack(s) hits enemies, gain the Frost Fae’s Favor effect for 6s: Geo DMG inflicted by the equipping character increases by 40%, Lunar-Crystallize Reaction DMG increases by 40%. While this effect is active, if there are Moondrifts near the equipping character, all other nearby party members will gain the Frost Fae’s Mischief effect: Geo DMG dealt increases by 20% and Lunar-Crystallize Reaction DMG increases by 20%. This effect can be triggered even when the equipping character is off-field.

The event-exclusive 5-Star weapon “Golden Frostbound Oath” (Bow) can be obtained from the Event Wish. Please refer to the relevant official event notices for specific acquisition details.

III. New Areas

New Areas Now Available

Version “Luna VI” introduces the following new areas, “Windrest Peak” and “Temple of Space,” in the Mondstadt region.

As long as you have reached Adventure Rank 20 and completed the Archon Quest Prologue: Act III “Song of the Dragon and Freedom,” a Teleport Waypoint will be automatically unlocked near Brightcrown Mountains in the northwest of Mondstadt’s Brightcrown Canyon. (If you have already completed this Archon Quest, the Teleport Waypoint will be unlocked after the update). You’ll also receive the Primogem reward for this Teleport Waypoint when it unlocks automatically.

In addition, Travelers can unlock the Temple of Space by progressing through the World Quest “A Long Day in the Mountains.”

New System: Temple of Space

Temple of Space: Memory Core

When exploring the Temple of Space, you will sometimes find Mnemonic Clusters formed by Memory Factors. You will also find scattered Memory Factors in treasure chests.

After collecting the Memory Factors, you can offer them to the Memory Core in the Temple of Space in exchange for blessings from the interstice and memories of civilization.

In addition, there will be new Fishing Points and “Radiant Spincrystals” in the new areas.

IV. New Main Story

1. New Story Quest

Linnea’s Story Quest “Alcyon Chapter: Act I – Up! Toward Homecoming Wings”

Permanently available after the Version “Luna VI” update.

Quest Unlock Criteria:

• Reach Adventure Rank 40 or above

• Complete Song of the Welkin Moon: Act IV — “An Elegy for Faded Moonlight”

• The “Focused Experience Mode” function is available for this quest.

After the Version “Luna VI” update and until 2026/04/28 17:59, Travelers who have reached Adventure Rank 28 and completed Archon Quest Chapter I: Act III “A New Star Approaches” can use the “Quick Start” function to unlock this quest.

2. New World Quests

New World Quests

“A Long Day in the Mountains” Quest series and “Winds Beneath the Tower of Silence.”

Reach Adventure Rank 20 and complete Archon Quest Prologue: Act III “Song of the Dragon and Freedom” to unlock.

V. New Enemies

Watcher: Fallen Vigil

Once a Watcher dwelling in the heavens, it can monitor and counter elemental attacks.

In combat, Watcher: Fallen Vigil will enter the Supreme Overseer state. While in this state, Watcher: Fallen Vigil will track the number of Pyro/Hydro/Electro/Cryo DMG instances it takes, respectively. When it has taken 3 instances of DMG from any of these elements, it will exit this state and record this element as a monitored target. If no element is monitored successfully, the record stays empty. For elements that are already being monitored, more instances of that elemental DMG must be dealt before it can be monitored again. After completing 2 instances of elemental monitoring, the Watcher: Fallen Vigil will prepare to unleash Phenomena’s Delirium, releasing the previously monitored elements and summoning two corresponding Active Elemental Stars. If the element record is empty, it will instead summon Inert Elemental Stars, which are difficult to destroy. Break all Elemental Stars to interrupt the preparation of Phenomena’s Delirium.

Domain Keeper

A shadow construct born from the overflow of the mighty primordial being, it can monitor and counter elemental attacks.

In combat, the Realm Keeper will enter the Deluded Eye state. While in this state, the Realm Keeper will track the number of Pyro/Hydro/Electro/Cryo DMG instances it takes, respectively. When it has taken 3 instances of DMG from any of these elements, the Realm Keeper will exit this state and transform into the corresponding elemental form, applying that element to itself and gaining a RES increase in the corresponding element.

VI. Miliastra Wonderland

Miliastra Wonderland Update

Cosmetic Sets

The “Scales Aflame” Event Ode brings four new sets: “Scaleblade Chronicles,” “Sleek Sprint,” “Cheerful Playmate,” and “Blazing Ambition.”

Chronicles of the Realms/Epic of the Realms features 3 new sets: “Lazurite Sword,” “Leisurely Wisteria,” and “Evening Seabreeze.”

Three new sets are available for a limited time only from the Miliastra Shop: “Wicked Warlock,” “Resolute Spirit,” and “Frosty Roar/Scorching Roar.”

“Encounter Echoes” Standard Ode: 1 New Set Catalog, “Tart Berry Muse,” along with 70 Exceptional (3-Star) Component Catalogs, have been made available.

Take part in the “Raiment Collection: Clear Radiance” event to obtain the new “Timeless Echo” set.

After the version update, the set “Owl Envoy” that was obtainable through an earlier limited-time event will be available for a limited time at the Miliastra Shop.

Lobby

With the new version update, the Public Lobby will be changed to a new theme: “Beacon Front: Scorching Flame.”

Travelers can purchase the new Private Lobby “Beacon Front: Blazing Realm” through the Miliastra Pass.

Wonderlands

The “Special Experience” section in Wonderlands’ filter menu will now include three new options: Leaderboard, Rank, and Ultimate Achievement. In addition, the “Wonderland Collection” filters have been expanded to match all categories available in the “Filter Wonderland” feature.

Adds the share stage button. On mobile devices, Wonderland stage links can be shared directly to other platforms, while on PC, the link can be copied to the clipboard for sharing.

The new version also adds additional cosmetic components, expressions, special effects, and actions, as well as optimizes certain parts of the interface layout.

For updates regarding the “Miliastra Wonderland” stage editor and Miliastra Sandbox, Travelers can check “My Miliastra Wonderland” > “Notices.”

VII. Genius Invokation TCG

Genius Invokation TCG Gameplay Update

New Character Cards: Dahlia, Aino, and their corresponding Talent cards. The corresponding invitation duel and guest challenges have also been added to the Player List.

New Character Card: “Consecrated Fanged Beast” and the corresponding Talent Card. The related Tavern Challenge has also been added.

New Action Cards: “Snare Hook,” “Blubberbeast,” “Lepine-Pauline,” “Elemental Transfiguration: Bloom Blessing,” “Elemental Transfiguration: Lava Blessing,” “Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam,” “Moon and Homeland,” and “Cleaning Time” have been added. These can now be purchased from Prince at The Cat’s Tail.

The Forge Realm’s Temper is once again available. The theme of this edition is “The Forge Realm’s Temper: Game of Wits”:

(1) During The Forge Realm’s Temper: Game of Wits, some stages will have special victory and defeat conditions or unique Special Rules. Adeptly adapt your tactics to complete the challenge and avoid the conditions for defeat!

(2) Within The Forge Realm’s Temper: Game of Wits event stages, there will also be special victory or defeat rules that can easily exert influence on the tempo of the match. Fully utilizing these special rules will contribute greatly to your success.

VIII. Imaginarium Theater

Update Scheduled for May 1

After the Version “Luna VI” update, a new season of Imaginarium Theater will be available on May 1, 2026.

Required Elemental Types: Pyro, Hydro, and Dendro

Opening Characters: Dehya, Yanfei, Kamisato Ayato, Dahlia, Kinich, and Kirara

When Imaginarium Theater is open, the corresponding Opening Characters will obtain Fantastical Blessings.

Special Guest Stars: Varka, Razor, Albedo, and Zibai

After the new season of Imaginarium Theater begins, the characters Lauma, Varesa, Chevreuse, and Dahlia will each gain a new “Thespian Trick” that can be exchanged from the NPC Wolfy.

IX. Spiral Abyss

Update Scheduled for April 16

Following the Version “Luna VI” update, a new season of Spiral Abyss will come online on April 16.

Floor 11 Ley Line Disorder changed to:

• All party members have their Elemental Mastery increased by 200.

Floor 12 Ley Line Disorders changed to:

First Half: Lunar-Crystallize DMG is increased by 75%.

Second Half: Active characters’ Normal and Charged Attack DMG is increased by 75%.

Updated the monster lineup on Floors 11 – 12 of the Spiral Abyss.

Blessing of the Abyssal Moon:

Rumbling Moon

When “Moondrift Harmony” is triggered, a shockwave is unleashed at the character’s position to deal True DMG to opponents. This effect can be triggered once every 4s.

Update Scheduled for May 16

After the Version “Luna VI” update, Phase 2 of the Spiral Abyss will be updated on May 16.

Floor 11 Ley Line Disorder changed to:

All party members receive a 75% Pyro DMG Bonus.

Floor 12 Ley Line Disorders changed to:

First Half: All party members receive a 75% Pyro DMG Bonus.

Second Half: Lunar-Bloom DMG is increased by 75%.

Updated the monster lineup on Floors 11 – 12 of the Spiral Abyss.

Blessing of the Abyssal Moon:

Shield-Shattering Moon

While the active character is protected by a Shield, when they deal DMG to opponents, their attacks will unleash a shockwave at the opponent’s position that deals True DMG. This can trigger once every 3s.

○ Exploration or Quest Rewards: “Harbor Fish Burger” and “Millhaven’s Morning Plate”

2. New Character Specialty Dish:

○ Linnea’s specialty: “Iridescence Under the Tree’s Shade”

3. Adds new “Demon Mountain’s Breath” Achievement category, and new Achievements to the “Wonders of the World” category.
4. Adds Set 48 of “Paimon’s Paintings” chat emojis.
5. Adds some prompts for loading screens.
6. New Namecards:

“Linnea: Rattling Resonance”: Reward for reaching Friendship Lv. 10 with Linnea.

“Mondstadt: Watchtower”: Reward for completing all achievements in the “Demon Mountain’s Breath” category.

“Empty Temple: Overflowing Memories”: Reward for reaching Memory Core Level 10.

“Travel Notes: Homecoming”: Reward obtained via the BP system.

7. Adds new wildlife: Windvigil Angler Gull, Camelhorn Deer, and Etherwing Moth. You can use the Omni-Ubiquity Net to capture certain creatures.
8. Adds new Fish: Cerulean Doppeldrake.
9. Adds new Travelers’ Tales content.
10. Adds the following Local Legends and the corresponding challenges: Churldric and “Prince Mahavasudeva-Yava.” Complete a certain number of challenges following this update to obtain the “Glimmering Glory” avatar frame.

Adjustments & Optimizations in Genshin Impact 6.5

Miliastra Wonderland

1. A new “Public Channel” has been added to Miliastra Wonderland, and Travelers can share Cosmetics, recruit teammates, and recruit in the lobby via the Public Channel.
2. In Miliastra Wonderland, you can now initiate private chats with strangers. Press the corresponding Traveler’s avatar, then press the “Chat” button to initiate.
3. In Miliastra Wonderland, the maximum capacity of the Public Lobby has been adjusted from 20 to 40.
4. Optimizes the filtering function in the “Search Wonderlands” interface: The “Type” option is now displayed directly on the interface, and new options have been added to the filters.
5. Optimizes the material effects of the Cosmetic “Galaxy Wanderer Robe (Top)” while in motion.
6. Adds an audio input setting option to Settings > Audio on mobile devices.

Serenitea Pot

1. In the Editing Screen, when the area’s load reaches a certain threshold, an indicator will appear beneath the furnishing icon, helping you quickly determine if that furnishing exceeds the load.
2. After reaching Trust Rank 10, the crafting time for furnishings will be reduced by 4 hours, and the upper limit of the furnishing creation queue will be increased from 10 to 15.
3. “Realm Music” now displays tracks that have not yet been obtained and indicates the regions where their Radiant Spincrystals can be found. In addition, some tracks can now be previewed in this interface.
4. Optimizes the display of companions who prefer the selected Gift Set in the Editing Screen.

System

1. Optimizes the “Auto Add” logic in the Character Level Up and Weapon/Artifact Enhance interfaces: When auto adding materials, the system will now take current Mora into account, preventing cases where there isn’t enough Mora after materials are added.
2. Reduces the frequency of the overflow EXP hint pop-up in the Character > Level Up screen: When the overflow EXP from leveling up is less than one “Adventurer’s Experience” (i.e., 5000 EXP), the pop-up hint will no longer appear.
3. In the “Artifact” “Lock Assistance” feature, the number of “Recommended Set Plan” for the same set will be increased, and the number of custom configurations that can be saved has been adjusted from 2 to 3.

Audio

1. Optimizes the sound performance of the gadget “Harmonic Keys.”
2. Optimizes the sound effects in some areas of Nod-Krai, as well as the music performance in some World Quests.
3. Optimizes the wording of some Japanese voice-over lines for the character “Varka” in the character’s Profile > Voice-Over interface.
4. Supplements English voice-over lines for updated content between Version 5.2 and Version 5.7. (The English voice-over lines for these versions are now complete with the exception of five remaining lines that will be added in future updates.)

Other

1. Optimizes the text descriptions for certain Brilliant Blessings in Imaginarium Theater.
2. Rainbowdrop Crystals can now be pulled by certain skills or effects.
