Forget Babygirl, Nicole Kidman Fought to Pee on Zac Efron in 14-Year-Old Movie Streaming for Free

Nicole Kidman may have gotten plenty of attention for that infamous milk moment in Babygirl, but she was going way further back in The Paperboy. Released in 2012, the steamy crime drama included a scene where the actress had to pee on her co-star Zac Efron.

Explaining her willingness to perform the scene, Kidman told V Magazine (via NME):

The peeing thing, I didn’t think was that weird, because I was in character. That was for the jellyfish. And for me it said so much about Charlotte. One, she’s protecting him. Two, she’s tough as nails and no one else is going to pee on this guy.

It sounds almost too wild to have made it into a Hollywood movie, but Kidman apparently fought to make sure the scene stayed in the film. Also, did we mention that the movie can be streamed for free? Yes, you can revisit it without spending a dime through several streaming platforms.

Nicole Kidman Told Director to “Man Up” Over Scene With Zac Efron

Kidman wasn’t exactly shy about pushing The Paperboy into uncomfortable territory; in fact, the actress pushed director Lee Daniels to stick with it.

In the film, Kidman’s character, Charlotte, urinates on Efron’s character after he gets stung by a jellyfish. Sounds wild enough already, but Daniels admitted that he actually started second-guessing the scene while editing the movie.

In his interview with Vulture, he revealed that he shared his qualms about the scene with Kidman but was later told by the actress to “man up”:

I think that I became more nervous about it in the edit room, and I thought, I’m not actually going to show this, right? Is it vulgar? And I called Nicole and said, “I don’t know,” and she said, “Lee, you made me pee on Zac Efron. If you don’t put it in the movie, you need to man up.”

And this is how the now-infamous scene ultimately made it into the finished movie. Daniels’ hesitation wasn’t really about filming it, but about whether audiences would find the moment too vulgar.

Kidman, however, clearly felt that if they committed to filming such a wild scene, there was no point backing away from it afterward. Her blunt response apparently gave Daniels the push he needed to keep it in the film.

The Paperboy’s Peeing Scene Is Wilder Than Babygirl’s Milk Scene

Kidman has never been afraid of doing provocative scenes, and Babygirl proved that once again with the controversial milk-drinking moment. Surprisingly, that scene feels tame compared with what she did to Efron in The Paperboy.

While the Babygirl scene is awkward and s*xually charged, the peeing scene in The Paperboy goes several steps further by throwing bodily fluids to another person. It’s not only suggestive but it’s downright outrageous, which makes it much harder to forget.

Still, both moments show Kidman’s willingness to embrace uncomfortable material, but of course, The Paperboy definitely wins when it comes to sheer shock value.
