Scarlett Johansson has done some remarkable work as an actress in Hollywood. But in this slew of roles and projects, her portrayal of Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe would definitely be the highlight of her career. However, despite this popularity, her character also had to endure some major objectification on the Iron Man 2 set.

Scarlett Johansson Called Out the Objectification of Black Widow in Iron Man 2
Scarlett Johansson entered the industry when she was just nine years old and faced several obstacles in her way. However, with her talents, she broke all barriers and turned out to be one of the most bankable actresses in Hollywood. Further, before donning the Black Widow suit, she had already done some noteworthy projects and had carved out a successful career. But by playing Natalia Romanoff, she also established how well she can act in the superhero genre as well.

Further, she made her debut in Iron Man 2 as Tony Stark’s assistant (later revealed to be a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent).
This role was definitely a career-defining moment for her, but she has also been vocal about the discomfort she felt regarding her costume for the role. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter via The Things, the actress expressed her dissatisfaction with earlier costumes of Black Widow. And even called out Robert Downey Jr.‘s Tony Star for making inappropriate comments. She further added:
I wanted to be a character actor. But I think women who are curvy can be pigeonholed in that bombshell thing. What can I do about it? (Further) They really talked about her like she’s a piece of something, like a possession or a thing or whatever — like a piece of a**, really. And Tony even refers to her as something like that at one point.
The actress also mentioned that she rejects the s*x symbol tag and preferred to be recognized for her acting abilities. However, at the same time she also acknowledged that positive changes have been taking place in the industry.
For instance: Johansson praised costume designer Jany Temime, who’s the genius behind the Black Widow suit. Further, she has worked hard consistently to create a costume that reflects the realities of a woman’s body.
A Star-Studded Return for the Sing Franchise

The movie also has a star-studded ensemble of voice actors such as Matthew McConaughey as Buster Moon and Scarlett Johansson as Ash.
The narrative further centers around Buster and his friends as they put together an elaborate performance of Michael Jacksons’ iconic 1983 hit Thriller for a Halloween party. But this bash takes an eerie turn when a mysterious ooze turns the guests into dancing creatures.
The first Sing movie was released all the way back in 2016 and was a huge hit at the box office and earned a staggering $600 million. It also featured actress Reese Witherspoon, who voiced Rosita. While she won’t be reprising her role in the new movie, others will surely keep the excitement alive.
