Eva Longoria’s 107-Minute R-Rated Romance Officially Takes Over Prime Video

Eva Longoria’s R-rated romantic movie has officially taken over the streaming charts after its release on Prime Video back in August 2026. The Last Sunrise, which received mediocre scores from audiences and critics alike, is now charting on Amazon Prime Video’s top 10 list!

According to Flix Patrol, the film is currently the 8th highest-ranking movie on the top 10 movies on Amazon Prime Video list (as of October 19), and has even left behind Ryan Gosling’s Project Hail Mary (which is currently #10 on the list).

The Desperate Housewives actress stars as Isolde Pera, the mother of lead star Maia Reficco, whose onscreen character is diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex.

Ahead of the film’s release, Longoria appeared during an interview with Entertainment Weekly and talked about why she joined the movie in the first place. According to the actress, the film is a “beautiful summer romance” with a deeper message.

About living in the moment. At its heart, it’s about love, self-discovery, and finding joy even in uncertain times.

The film was released on Prime Video in August 2026 and received mediocre reviews upon its release, with critics giving it a score of 36% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Despite the dismal ratings, it seems that Amazon MGM Studios has already considered a sequel idea, though it remains highly uncertain at the moment.

Ahead of the film’s release in August, sources told Deadline that Amazon MGM Studios was already considering making a sequel to the film. Per the report, screenwriter Anna Klassen has allegedly returned to write the second film, based on an unannounced new novel by Anna Todd (on whose book the first film is based).

Sources stated that there’s no guarantee that the studio will greenlight a sequel, but the general intention is to make a trilogy, similar to author Anna Todd’s plans of putting out two more novels.

The report is before the release of The Last Sunrise, and nothing official has been confirmed or denied since the movie’s release. Fans of the Eva Longoria romance are awaiting further news about the possibility of a sequel.
