Alan Ritchson Officially Addresses When Reacher Season 5 Will Release on Prime Video

Despite Alan Ritchson’s Reacher Season 4 releasing on August 12, 2026, it seems that fans cannot get enough of the Jack Reacher show. Ahead of the release of Season 4, Amazon MGM Studios had already greenlit Season 5 of the show, which was going to be an adaptation of Lee Child’s 19th book, Make Me.

Lead star Alan Ritchson recently answered a fan who couldn’t wait for the release of the fifth season of the show. According to the actor, Season 5 of Reacher is over 50% of the way through production. The actor went on to add a humorous tale that the series will likely release in 10 years (or before that). Although the actor was half-joking, he did say half the truth: that the series had finished filming over 50% of the shoot and was proceeding ahead with the shoot. This means that the assumed timeline that Amazon MGM Studios had planned for Reacher is being followed nearly properly.

When Will Reacher Season 5 Release on Prime Video?

Prime Video hasn’t officially announced a release date for Reacher Season 5 till now. However, considering the trend of the show, it seems highly possible that the fifth season will be released in 2027.

The first season of the Alan Ritchson show premiered in February 2022, followed by Season 2 in December 2023. The franchise took a pause before releasing Season 3 in February 2025, and Season 4 in August 2026. Naturally, except for a small break, it seems that Amazon MGM Studios plans to release a new season almost every year.

On 14 July, during an interview with ScreenRant, Alan Ritchson officially revealed that they started shooting the fifth season “on [the coming] Monday”, which puts the shoot commencement date on July 20, 2026. Likely, the series is expected to wrap up shooting in December 2026.

This puts the release timeline of Reacher Season 5 around spring, summer, or September 2027. However, without Prime Video’s official statements and release timelines, nothing remains confirmed. However, from Alan Ritchson’s statements, it does seem that the filming of the show might be going correctly according to the rumored timeline.

As if the creator of the Jack Reacher novels heard the fans, a new book in the Jack Reacher series is out now, penned by Lee Child alongside his younger brother Andrew Child.

The book, titled Chain Reaction, was released on October 20, with the book being the 31st instalment in the series. Per Penguin Random House, the new novel sees Jack Reacher reuniting with General Susan Turner after one of her agents is killed during a covert mission.

Ending up in the town of Summertown, Colorado, Jack Reacher discovers data centres, solar farms, and a dangerous conspiracy hiding behind them involving billions of dollars.

The book is available in four formats: large format, hardcover, an audiobook, as well as an E-book. The hardcover is currently priced at $ 34.00, with additional formats remaining to announce their prices.
