Channing Tatum shares cryptic response to ex Zoe Kravitz’s engagement

Actress reportedly engaged to pop star Harry Styles

Channing Tatum has seemingly responded to the news that his former fiancee, Zoe Kravitz, is now engaged to Harry Styles.

In a now-deleted Instagram Story, Tatum, 46, shared a poem from writer John Roedel, Page Six reported.

“My brain and / heart divorced / a decade ago / over who was / to blame about / how big of a mess / I have become,” the poem reads. “Eventually, / they couldn’t be / in the same room / with each other.”

Tatum also posted another Instagram Story that featured a bruised and bloody female fighter saying, “It didn’t go the way I wanted.”

He also posted a clip of two people engaging in a pool noodle fight in New York City adding that “it seems (like) so much fun.”

After splitting with his first wife, Jenna Dewan, in 2024, Tatum got together with Kravitz, who was previously married to Karl Glusman from June 2019 to August 2021.

Styles ‘smitten,’ fans perplexed by Tatum’s poem choice

“He is completely smitten,” an insider told Page Six of the One Direction alum’s new romance with The Batman actress. “He would jump off a cliff for her.”

After sparking engagement rumours following photos published by the U.K. Sun that showed Kravitz sporting a dazzling ring, sources confirmed to PEOPLE and Page Six that Zoe and Styles have told “a small circle” of friends that they are getting hitched.

Rumours that the pair were dating first got going last summer when they were spotted together in Italy. Celebrity gossip page Deuxmoi reported that the two were also spotted kissing in London.

Since then, Kravitz, 37, and Styles, 32, were seen in one another’s company in New York City.

In a recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Styles, who previously dated actress Olivia Wilde, said he envisioned himself getting married and starting a family.

“I want to be fulfilled and I want to be in great relationships with people. I want to have great friendships with people. I want a family. I want these things,” he told Lowe, per the Daily Mail.

On X, Tatum’s cryptic social media posts were widely mocked with one person writing, “This made me giggle.”

“Crashing out on an IG story. Celebrities, they’re just like us,” one Redditor observed.

“Channing Tatum is a handsome mess. He fumbled his first wife and he’s been in a midlife crisis since then,” a third person wrote.

Another commentator suggested Tatum should let it go, especially since he has moved on with 26-year-old girlfriend Inka Williams.

“He needs to get over it, he has a girlfriend 19 years younger to fill the void, but I guess it’s not working,” they wrote.

“Happy life to the handsomest, kindest, funniest, stoopidest most gorgeous human ever !!!” Williams wrote atop a post shared to her Instagram Stories, per PEOPLE. “Merci for making life beautiful and fun.”

A source told the outlet that the two “met through friends.”

“She’s great,” the insider said of the Australian model. “She has her own life. She’s young, but seems older.”

Channing and Zoe ‘grew apart’

Tatum and Kravitz first met when she cast him as a villainous billionaire in her 2024 thriller Blink Twice.

She had seen Tatum play the hero plenty of times, but never the bad guy.

“I think that was why I wanted him to do it,” Kravitz told Postmedia at the time. “I’ve always thought he’s such a great actor and I’ve always felt that there was more beneath the surface and it would be fun to watch him do something different.”

But by the fall, the two had reportedly broken up with sources telling PEOPLE that they “grew apart.”

“The split is amicable. They realized they’re at different stages in life,” the insider said. “Channing spends a lot of time in Los Angeles because of his daughter, but Zoe prefers N.Y.C.”

Although Tatum has not directly addressed the news of Kravitz’s engagement, the former lovers were slated to work together on the sci-fi drama Alpha Gang. They’ve since stepped away from the project, but a source told PEOPLE at the time the film was announced in late 2024 that Tatum “has a lot of respect for Zoe’s focus and passion.”

Following their split, Kravitz told ELLE that she was “grateful” for her experience working with Tatum on Blink Twice.

“I’m so happy that all of it happened,” she said. “I just feel so grateful that we got to go on that journey together.”
