Wuthering Waves Hiyuki Build Guide: Best Weapons, Teams, Echoes, and More

Hiyuki is finally out in Phase 1 of the Wuthering Waves Version 3.3 update, and she is already an excellent Glacio Sword DPS. Her kit is all about her multiple Forte bars and two Liberations. And while you might think it’s complex at first, it’s really not. You just need the right Hiyuki build and understand how she works.

Hiyuki isn’t your typical Glacio carry in Wuthering Waves. A lot of her damage is considered Resonance Liberation damage. Then you also have to consider her Glacio Chafe and her unique Glacio Bite interaction, which complicates her build a bit. As expected from Kuro Games.

Of course, you’ll also want to put her together with the best teammates who can apply the right negative statuses. So without further ado, this Hiyuki guide will cover everything you need to know to get the best Hiyuki build. Including her best weapons, Echoes, teams, and more!

Hiyuki Kit and Build Overview in Wuthering Waves 3.3

Hiyuki is a 5-star Glacio Resonator who wields a Sword and functions as a Resonance Liberation main DPS. Her damage comes from repeatedly cycling between two forms and timing her Forte attacks for maximum damage.

In combat, Hiyuki cycles between two primary states:

• Present Self – Builds up Dedication using basic attacks, skills, and intro abilities
• Foreclaimed Self – Converts that energy into Frostheart and big burst damage

Once you’ve stacked her forte in Foreclaimed Self, she can use her second liberation, which is her ultimate attack, for a big burst of damage. Your rotation will look something like this:

1. Enter the field with her intro and start building Dedication (Present Self)
2. Use Heavy attack to consume her forte and perform the Heavy Arrow attack
3. Then change into Foreclaimed Self by using her first Liberation (ult)
4. Between basic attacks, use her skill twice, and also use your echo skill here
5. Once you’ve filled up the Sword Forte meter, use dash+basic attacks to consume the three Forte charges.
6. Finally, use a heavy attack to fully deplete the Forte bar and use her second Liberation to consume stacks for a massive nuke

It looks like a lot of steps, but once you get used to it, this rotation becomes smooth and has a lot of flexibility in execution.

Hiyuki also brings the Glacio Chafe and Glacio Bite mechanics to the game. In the right team, she can convert enemy status stacks into extra damage and gain major self-buffs from passive effects.

Is Hiyuki Good in the Meta?

Hiyuki is a strong DPS with a very high damage ceiling, especially if you’re a player who likes to execute technical rotations. She does well in both single-target and multi-target scenarios because her kit is loaded with large multipliers and strong burst windows.

Her biggest strength is that she can function even without every ideal teammate, since she can apply and consume Glacio Chafe on her own. That said, she becomes much more threatening when paired with another character who helps trigger her stack-based bonuses.

Right now, her team options are good, but not fully complete, so we can expect her to get a dedicated support in the future. Basically, Hiyuki is absolutely worth building if you want a premium Glacio DPS with a strong future.

Hiyuki Skill Upgrade Priority in Wuthering Waves 3.3

Hiyuki’s best damage comes from a few core parts of her kit, so leveling the right skills first makes a big difference.

Priority should be:

1. Resonance Liberation
2. Basic Attack
3. Forte Circuit
4. Resonance Skill
5. Intro Skill

Her Resonance Liberation is the main source of her burst damage, so it deserves the first investment. Her Basic attacks matter a lot, too, because both of her forms use them heavily.

Then you should level her Forte Circuit because it buffs her transformations and Forte skills. Resonance Skill and Intro Skill are still useful, but they are lower priority. You should still level them, but they don’t have to be first.

Best Weapons for Hiyuki in Wuthering Waves 3.3

Hiyuki’s signature weapon is still her best choice by a clear margin (around 20-25% better than Emerald of Genesis), but she has a few solid alternatives if you do not own it.

Best-in-Slot: Frostburn

Frostburn is Hiyuki’s signature sword, and it is tailor-made for her kit. It gives her the stats she wants and directly boosts her Glacio and Resonance Liberation damage. It also improves her performance when she applies Glacio Chafe, which is one of the most important parts of her entire kit.

This is the weapon that fits her mechanics the cleanest, so it is the strongest recommendation overall.

Strong 5-Star Alternative: Emerald of Genesis

Emerald of Genesis is the best general-purpose substitute. The Energy Regen and ATK buffs make it very comfortable on Hiyuki, especially if your build still needs help reaching smoother rotations.

It will not match her signature, but it is a very reliable option and one of the best non-signature swords for her.

Other Usable Options

Red Spring can work well as a stat stick, especially because of its strong offensive stats. Even if parts of its passive are less efficient on Hiyuki, it still gives her useful raw damage.

Feather Edge is one of the best 4-star choices, especially when refined. It supports her Resonance Liberation-focused damage well.

Fables of Wisdom and Commando of Conviction are serviceable budget choices, though they are clearly behind the top options.

In general, prioritize Crit Rate, Crit DMG, ATK, or Liberation-related bonuses on any weapon you choose.

Best Echo Set for Hiyuki in Wuthering Waves 3.3

Hiyuki’s best Sonata set is Wishes of Quiet Snowfall. This set fits her kit almost perfectly because it rewards the exact kind of gameplay she already wants to perform.

Best Set: Wishes of Quiet Snowfall

This set boosts her Glacio DMG, and its 5-piece effect improves her performance when she inflicts Glacio Chafe. It also gives you the Snowfall buff, which gives her a large Crit Rate bonus when she deals Resonance Liberation damage.

That is ideal for a character whose burst window is such a large part of her total output. This set is clearly designed with Hiyuki in mind, so it is the best long-term choice.

Temporary Alternative: Freezing Frost

If you have not farmed the new set yet, Freezing Frost is the best short-term option. It is simpler and more generic, but still gives her a meaningful Glacio damage boost.

It is not her optimal set, but it is perfectly usable until you finish farming the dedicated one.

Best Main Echo

For Hiyuki, the best main Echo is Reminiscence: Threnodian – Voidborne Construct when using Wishes of Quiet Snowfall. It gives her Glacio DMG and Resonance Liberation DMG, which are both excellent for her.

If you are using Freezing Frost, Lampylumen Myriad is the better main Echo choice.

Best Echo Main Stats and Substats

Hiyuki uses a standard DPS Echo layout.

The recommended setup is:

• 4-Cost: Crit Rate or Crit DMG
• 3-Cost: Glacio DMG Bonus
• 3-Cost: Glacio DMG Bonus or ATK%
• 1-Cost: ATK%
• 1-Cost: ATK%

For substats, focus on:

• Crit Rate
• Crit DMG
• ATK%
• Energy Regen
• Resonance Liberation DMG Bonus

If your Crit ratio is already good, Energy Regen can be a valuable stat because it helps keep her rotation smooth and her burst available when needed. Since most of her damage comes from her Liberation and empowered attacks, anything that boosts that portion of her kit is excellent.

Best Teams for Hiyuki in Wuthering Waves 3.3

Hiyuki’s best teams are built around three things: amplifying her burst damage, helping her trigger her stack-based passive, and keeping her rotation efficient.

Premium Team

Hiyuki / Lynae / Chisa

This is the strongest all-around option. Lynae brings strong offensive support and sub-DPS value, while Chisa is extremely important because she helps Hiyuki benefit from her Glacio Chafe and Havoc Bane synergy. This team gives Hiyuki the most complete setup available right now.

Premium Variant

Hiyuki / Lynae / Mornye

This team is another top option, especially if you want strong team-wide buffs and smooth gameplay. It still supports Hiyuki’s burst pattern very well and can feel excellent in practice.

Glacio-Focused Team

Hiyuki / Zhezhi / Chisa

This lineup leans harder into Glacio support and still performs very well. Zhezhi helps with Glacio amplification and off-field damage, while Chisa keeps the status synergy alive.

Liberation-Focused Team

Hiyuki / Changli / Shorekeeper

This is a flexible damage-focused team that boosts Hiyuki’s personal output. It works especially well if you want to lean into raw numbers rather than status stacking.

Free-to-Play Team

Hiyuki / Sanhua / Verina

This is the easiest accessible team to build and still works well. Sanhua provides useful support value, and Verina remains one of the most dependable sustain options in the game.

The biggest thing to keep in mind is that Hiyuki gains more value when the team helps her activate her status-based passive. She already deals excellent damage on her own, but the right support core raises her ceiling noticeably.

Hiyuki Resonance Chains

Hiyuki’s Resonance Chains offer some very strong upgrades, but a few stand out more than the rest.

Best Early Stopping Points

S1 is a major quality-of-life and damage upgrade. It improves her Foreclaimed Self attacks, adds better crowd control, and makes her smoother to play.

S2 is another excellent stopping point because it boosts her Iai damage and helps her rotation flow better.

S3 is one of her biggest power spikes. It greatly strengthens her Glacio Bite interactions and pushes her damage much higher.

Strong Higher-End Options

S4 gives valuable team damage support and some sustain.

S5 is decent, but not a major game-changer compared with her earlier nodes.

S6 is the monster upgrade. It massively increases her burst damage and significantly raises her overall ceiling. For players investing heavily into Hiyuki, this is the endgame prize.

For most players, S1 or S3 are the most attractive stopping points. If you are going beyond that, S6 is where her damage gets truly absurd.

Hiyuki Ascension and Forte Materials

If you are planning to build Hiyuki properly, you will need to farm both character ascension and Forte materials.

For ascension, the materials include:

For Forte upgrades, you will also need:

• Polarizer materials

And that’s it! Hiyuki is a powerful Glacio DPS with a stylish kit, strong burst DPS, and a lot of room to grow as she gets more support options. Her mechanics take a little time to learn, but once her rotation clicks, she is a very rewarding character to use.
