What is Netflix’s Man on Fire About?

Netflix’s adaptation of A.J. Quinnell’s Man on Fire is not a remake of the 2004 film but a fresh reimagining of the John Creasy lore. The series follows Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Creasy, a former Special Forces mercenary who is a shell of his former self, battling severe PTSD and personal demons.

When he is at his lowest, his old friend Rayburn comes to help him. While travelling to Brazil with his friend, a tragedy strikes, and he is left to protect Rayburn’s young daughter, Poe. He now not only has to hunt the men down responsible for the bombing, but also protect Poe (via Tudum).

At first distant and emotionally shut down, Creasy slowly forms a deep bond with her. Slowly, they both begin to trust each other; however, the worst is not over. Created by Kyle Killen, it also stars Billie Boullet, Alice Braga, Scoot McNairy, Paul Ben-Victor, Bobby Cannavale, and more.
