Unchosen Season 2 Renewal Status Explained: What Sam Actor Fra Fee Said About A Sequel Series

With the release of the much-awaited psychological thriller mini-series, Unchosen, it seems like actor Fra Fee, who plays the role of Sam in the series, is finally getting his flowers as he does the role of the antagonist justice. Thus, proud of his performance along with the rest of the cast and series creator Julie Gearey, he revealed in an interview with Collider that he believes there can be a Season 2 on the horizon for the series. He said:

I would love to continue his journey simply because I hadn’t come across such a brilliant character in so long, really, and I would just love to explore him further. But as you said, it’s a very satisfying end to the show, and if it were to end here, it’s quite a satisfying one. But you know, like anything, if you know these shows, if it’s a big success, you know they’ll want to carry it on, and I think Julie probably has some ideas up her sleeve already.

Therefore, with a positive outlook by one of the main stars of the Netflix series, let’s take a look at whether the streaming giant has any plans for turning Unchosen into a full-fledged ongoing series in the future.

Has Unchosen Been Renewed for Season 2 by Netflix? Latest Updates

Unfortunately, as of this moment, there has been no official confirmation about Unchosen being greenlit for a new season in the future. This is because the first season of the series was released on Netflix on April 21, 2026, and thus, most fans and viewers haven’t even had the chance to watch it yet.

Since the mini-series is still new on the platform, people have yet to come across it on Netflix, which also comes with the added disadvantage that its popularity depends on word of mouth from those who have already watched it and liked it.

Moreover, the major factor in whether a new season is renewed depends on how well the six episodes that were a limited release are received in the coming days, which will determine Netflix’s decision to develop it into an ongoing show, as stated by Fee himself in his comment.

Unchosen Season 2: Possible Storylines the Cult Drama Can Use

As we saw in the finale of Unchosen, Sam became the leader of the Fellowship of the Divine, which was only shown in brief without too much explanation. Thus, if a Season 2 is greenlit, it can tell the story of how he came into power and what happened to Adam after the last episode ended.

Another major storyline that Season 2 can follow is the aftermath of Rosie’s escape from the community, which shows her new life with her daughter, Grace, as they navigate an unknown world. It can also bring the threat of Sam back as he now holds significant power in his hands after becoming the Fellowship’s Elder, which will make him go after his former lover.

And last, but not least, it was revealed during the series that there are multiple branches of the Fellowship spread all across the United Kingdom, which opens up the possibility of either one, or all of them being explored if Season 2 goes into development. This will provide a whole new story and cast of characters that are part of the same Unchosen universe, but have separate stories from the original.
