We explored the nightmare sequences of him waking up as the Man-Spider and very quickly we were like, ‘we do want children to enjoy this movie as well.

By physically manifesting his transformation into a hybrid monster, the film would have hammered home the terrifying reality that he is losing the battle for his own humanity.

It would have forced audiences to confront the physical cost of his powers, illustrating that the line between the man and the spider is genuinely blurring. Without this visceral anchor, the narrative loses a crucial beat that could have heightened the stakes of his isolation and internal identity crisis.
