Lioness Season 3 Release Schedule: When Do New Episodes Release?

Lioness Season 3 is returning with another tightly packed mission, and Paramount+ is keeping Taylor Sheridan’s espionage drama on a weekly deployment instead of releasing the entire operation at once. Zoe Saldaña is back as CIA station chief Joe McNamara, while Nicole Kidman, Michael Kelly and Morgan Freeman return to the government rooms where orders can become deadlier than the gunfire outside them.

The official trailer places Joe’s family closer to the danger she has spent years keeping outside their front door. Hidden networks, disappearing names, foreign operatives, and personal betrayals now press against both halves of her life. That direction sounds like the right escalation after two seasons of watching Joe insist that she can compartmentalize a job designed to destroy boundaries.

Lioness Season 3 premieres Sunday, August 2, 2026, exclusively on Paramount+. Paramount+ has confirmed an eight-episode weekly rollout, with one installment every Sunday until the September 20 finale. 

Paramount+ has not announced an official minute-by-minute launch time. Decider reports that the premiere is expected at approximately 3:01 a.m. ET, which matches the overnight pattern associated with Paramount+ originals. Viewers should allow for minor regional or app delays instead of treating one minute as a military-grade promise. What Is Lioness Season 3 About?

The official synopsis of Lioness Season 3 sends Joe into the Lioness program’s most personal assignment so far. Hidden networks, foreign agents, and betrayals begin rearranging familiar patterns around her, while Kaitlyn Meade and Byron Westfield direct the response from above. Paramount+ says the conflict reaches into every part of Joe’s life, which places her husband, Neal, and daughters, Kate and Charlie, much closer to the consequences of her work. 

The final trailer supports that shift by having Joe disclose more about her profession and its dangers to her family. Kaitlyn asks, “This isn’t the end of a fight. It’s the start of one. Are you up for it?” Joe answers, “I’m up for it.”

That exchange suggests this assignment will demand consent from Joe in a way previous missions rarely did, although agreeing to fight has never protected her from the bill afterward. Season 2 left plenty of damage behind. Joe’s team rescued a kidnapped member of Congress, confronted a cartel operation with Chinese backing, recruited Army pilot Josie Carrillo as the new Lioness, and brought Cruz Manuelos back into the field. The mission succeeded, but Joe’s injuries and deteriorating home life made victory look increasingly expensive. At the New York premiere, Zoe Saldaña praised the writing of Joe and Kaitlyn as characters whose authority does not depend on conventional gender expectations (per PEOPLE). 

Ian Bohen joins the regular cast as Grady, described by Paramount+ as a by-the-book Delta Force operator, skilled tactician, and primary K9 handler. The role reunites Ian Bohen with Taylor Sheridan after Yellowstone and Wind River. Returning players include Laysla De Oliveira as Cruz, Genesis Rodriguez as Josie, Jill Wagner as Bobby, LaMonica Garrett as Tucker, James Jordan as Two Cups, and Dave Annable as Neal.
