Set inside London’s boxing and criminal worlds, the eight-episode drama, Fightland, follows former heavyweight champion Maduka “Duke” Kilroy, whose greatest victory turns into the worst night of his life. Duke’s brother is murdered after the championship bout, and Duke’s violent response sends him to an American prison for eight years. Once released, he returns to London determined to destroy former promoter Kingsley Marshall, the man he believes orchestrated his ruin. Kingsley has disappeared, leaving his wife, children, and illicit empire exposed to Duke’s campaign. Sky’s official synopsis confirms that Duke infiltrates the Marshall organization with help from a cartel seeking control of London’s drug trade. 

50 Cent executive-produces through G-Unit Film & Television but does not play an announced character. Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith created the series, while Power and BMF veterans Damione Macedon and Raphael Jackson Jr. serve as showrunners. Howard Charles Plays Maduka ‘Duke’ Kilroy

Howard Charles leads Fightland as Duke Kilroy, a British boxer who becomes heavyweight champion shortly before his brother Calvin is killed. Duke spends eight years imprisoned for murdering the attacker, then returns home convinced that Kingsley Marshall engineered the tragedy. Revenge drives Duke, although his unresolved love for Kingsley’s wife, Joy Marshall, makes his mission far messier. Howard Charles described Duke as a wounded man capable of love, which should keep him from becoming another grim avenger with permanent clenched teeth.

Nicholas Pinnock Plays Kingsley Marshall

Nicholas Pinnock plays Kingsley Marshall, Duke’s former mentor, boxing promoter, and suspected architect of his downfall. Kingsley operates far beyond legitimate fight promotion, with his family’s real fortune tied to an extensive criminal organization.

He disappears before Duke returns to London, but his absence hangs over every alliance. Kingsley considers Duke the son he wishes he had, although Nicholas Pinnock has described his character as ruthless enough to sacrifice his own relatives when power demands it. That combination of paternal affection and self-preservation should make their eventual confrontation much nastier than a standard hero-versus-villain bout. 

Nicholas Pinnock is widely recognized as Aaron Wallace on ABC’s For Life. He has also appeared on Marcella, Top Boy, Criminal: UK, and Long Bright River. 

Deborah Ayorinde Plays Joy Marshall

Deborah Ayorinde stars as Joy Marshall, Kingsley’s wife and the love Duke left behind. With Kingsley missing, Joy begins pursuing an empire of her own while Duke’s return upends a life she has spent years rebuilding. Joy sits at the center of the series’ most combustible relationship. She belongs to the Marshall family, yet she shares a past with the man attempting to dismantle it. The official casting announcement describes Joy as an ambitious woman trying to build independent power, so viewers should not mistake her for a prize waiting between two men.

Deborah Ayorinde is best known for leading Prime Video’s horror drama Them and the family-business series Riches. Her earlier credits include Luke Cage, True Detective, Harriet, and Girls Trip (via IMDb).

Anita-Joy Uwajeh Plays Cebella ‘Cece’ Marshall

Anita-Joy Uwajeh plays Cebella “Cece” Marshall, Kingsley’s highly intelligent and business-minded daughter. Cece oversees the family’s gambling operation and appears far less approachable than her brother. Duke may be targeting Kingsley, but Cece controls enough of the empire to become a formidable obstacle on her own. Official previews describe her as icy and unyielding, which suggests she will protect the organization through calculation instead of reckless aggression.

Charles Babalola Plays Ezekiel ‘Zeek’ Marshall

Charles Babalola portrays Ezekiel ‘Zeek’ Marshall, Kingsley’s brash and unpredictable son. Zeek helps Cece operate the criminal side of Marshall Promotions, although he is presented as the more sociable sibling. That charm should not be confused with harmlessness. Zeek has inherited his father’s world, and Duke’s attempt to sabotage the organization places him directly in the line of fire. His impulsive temperament may also make him easier for Duke to manipulate than the guarded Cece.

Tahirah Sharif Plays Kim Harper

Tahirah Sharif plays Kim Harper, a confident ring card woman and former boxer immersed in London’s fight community. Kim befriends Duke after he returns and makes her attraction to the former champion difficult to miss. Kim gives Duke a connection outside the Marshall family, although her history as a fighter should prevent her from becoming a passive romantic diversion. She understands the boxing world he lost, and she may recognize how badly revenge is distorting him before Duke does. 

Tahirah Sharif is best known as Rebecca Jessel on Netflix’s The Haunting of Bly Manor and PC Lizzie Adama on The Tower, which earned her a BAFTA television nomination. She also appeared on Waterloo Road and in the A Christmas Prince movies (via IMDb).

Tyler Conti Plays Justin ‘Jay’ Hall

Tyler Conti plays Justin ‘Jay’ Hall, Duke’s best friend and former cutman. Jay’s life deteriorated while Duke was imprisoned, so the boxer’s return offers him a chance to repair their friendship and make a new start. Jay appears to be the person Duke trusts most, which can be a thankless position when Duke is collaborating with cartels and provoking a criminal dynasty. His role should supply the friendship and uncomfortable advice that revenge stories often forget they need.

The gym reconnects Duke with the sport that once gave him purpose, but his fractured relationship with Gazzer brings family resentment into an already crowded vendetta. I suspect their history will hurt Duke more than any blow he takes inside the ring.

Starz’s official cast page also lists Sylvester Akinrolabu as Jackhammer and Sebastián Capitán Viveros as Lazaro, although their complete character histories have been kept under wraps. Sylvester Akinrolabu previously appeared in Romeo & Juliet and Murder, They Hope, while Sebastián Capitán Viveros had a role in Spider-Man: Far From Home and appeared in the West End production of Sweat.
