CD Projekt Red’s long-awaited expansion, The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, looks set to expand Geralt’s romantic history. Following a Gamescom 2026 gameplay reveal on August 25, along with comments from the developers at Fool’s Theory, every sign points toward at least one brand-new romanceable character joining the list of series favorites like Triss and Keira.

It is his family affairs that pull the group back to his ancestral estate, and among the relatives introduced is Lilla, described as an adventurous and spirited woman who quickly catches Geralt’s attention.
A hands-off gameplay demonstration at Gamescom showed Geralt and Lilla investigating a grove overtaken by hostile, thorn-covered creatures. During the mission, Lilla is knocked down by the thorns, and as Geralt moves to help her up, players are presented with several dialogue options, one of which lets him embrace her.
When asked directly whether the demo included a romance option for Lilla (via Eurogamer), Fool’s Theory CEO Jakub Rokosz stopped short of confirming or denying it, explaining that the studio wants players to discover this for themselves.

Paired with the Lilla demo, this comment further strengthens the theory that the upcoming expansion does indeed offer a new relationship path for the protagonist.
Unfortunately, exact details are still lacking, with both the studios involved keeping the specifics under wraps for now. As for the release date, The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past is scheduled to launch sometime in 2027, arriving after a broader remastered version of the base game slated for next month.
