The biggest change for PC players is the removal of Denuvo anti-tamper technology from Dragon’s Dogma 2. The DRM has been removed as part of the latest update more than two years after the game’s original release. However, the developer has implemented a different DRM in its place.
At the same time, Capcom has revised the game’s PC performance targets and system requirements.
| Minimum – Prioritize Performance | Intel Core i5-8500 / AMD Ryzen 5 3500 | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 / AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB | 16GB | 1080p | FSR | 45–60 FPS |
| Minimum – Prioritize Graphics | Intel Core i5-8500 / AMD Ryzen 5 3500 | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 / AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB | 16GB | 1080p | FSR | 45 FPS |
| Recommended – Prioritize Performance | Intel Core i7-10700 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super / AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT | 16GB | 1080p | DLSS/FSR | 60 FPS |
| Recommended – Prioritize Graphics | Intel Core i7-10700 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600X | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super / AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT | 16GB | 2160p | DLSS/FSR | 45 FPS |
Note: Capcom says an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6800 is required to support ray tracing. An SSD is also recommended.
Capcom has also added new graphics settings to the Steam version. These include controls for volumetric fog, cloudscape resolution, foliage density, terrain quality, ray-tracing GI quality, ray-tracing GI shading, effect reflections, swaying grass, and more.
PS5 and Xbox Performance Also Gets a Major Boost
Image Credit: CapcomThere are also some performance changes for consoles. On both PS5 and Xbox Series X, the Performance mode targets 2160p output with FSR and 60 FPS, while Graphics mode targets the same output resolution at approximately 30 FPS.
The PS5 Pro gets enhanced PSSR support. Its Performance mode targets 2160p at around 60 FPS, while Graphics mode targets approximately 45 FPS. Xbox Series S targets 45 FPS in Performance mode and around 30 FPS in Graphics mode, with its listed 2160p output using a 1440p rendering resolution.
There are also some overall quality-of-life changes. Players can now have three adventure save slots, with each slot containing Autosave, Interim Save, and Last Inn Rest Save data. Loading an inn-rest save will no longer overwrite the other save types.
We also have big changes to combat, with the number of assignable weapon skills increasing from four to six. Several vocations have been adjusted, while Mage and Sorcerer gain the new Magick Barrier core skill. Trickster receives Buoyant Brume, and Mystic Spearhand gets substantial changes to Mirour Vesture.
Pawns have received an especially extensive overhaul. New commands such as Explore and High Five! have been added, and their AI is now better at protecting the Arisen, grappling enemies, supporting players who are downed, and responding to threats.
The update also adds Dragonsbaulk Draught, an item capable of curing Dragonsplague, alongside a new option to skip the opening portion of the story when replaying the game.
