1 Is Dan Levy the Creator of Big Mistakes?

Yes, Emmy Award winner and co-creator of Schitt’s Creek, the Emmy-winning series, Dan Levy, is part of Netflix’s Big Mistakes as a producer, showrunner, and lead star, who plays the role of Nicholas Dardano, or Nicky for short.

The production of the crime comedy series began in 2025, when Netflix announced a list of many projects in the pipeline, including Levy’s show (via Netflix Tudum). In fact, Levy co-created the series with executive producer Rachel Sennott, who is also the creator of HBO’s I Love LA series.

2 Who Is the Adopted Kid Among the Dardano Siblings?

The change in plans was brought about by the fact that just when Netflix picked up the production of this series, HBO Entertainment also greenlit Sonnett’s script for I Love LA in 2025, where she was supposed to be the lead star. 4 Did Morgan Hook Up With Yusuf?

After Morgan gets the hang of doing shady odd jobs for Ivan, he personally sends her, Nick, and Yusuf to buy some cattle at an auction in Episode 5, titled ‘James 4:17’, as he believes Morgan is perfect for the job. 5 Did Morgan and Nick Patch Up Their Relationship?

In Episode 7, titled ‘I’ve Really Enjoyed My Time With You’, we see how Nick, after being somewhat forced to snort lines of cocaine by the Brazilian Mafia, starts to open up to Morgan about his feelings and comments he had suppressed since his childhood, where Morgan also follows his example.

And by the end of the episode, we see how the narcotics made both of them talk straight with each other after years of suppressed feelings and emotions. Thus, despite suffering a life-and-death scenario, the sibling bond between them grows stronger.

6 Why Were Ivan and the Brazilian Cartel Assassinated?

As the season continues, we come to know that Ivan was just a henchman for the Italian Mob, who disrespected him constantly. Thus, to start his own criminal empire, Ivan went to the Brazilian Cartel in Miami, behind the Mob’s back, to seek help from the Cartel in taking the Italians out.

But as we later find out in the final episode, titled ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors, ‘ it was Yusuf who snitched to the Mob bosses about Ivan, and thus, got him killed along with the rest of the Cartel’s head honchos. But still, both Nick and Morgan were pissed at Yusuf as the assassination attempt could’ve gotten both of them killed as well.

7 Is Annette Zofrea Evil?

In the final scenes of Big Mistakes Season 1, we come to know that the bosses of the Italian Mob weren’t the ones who were truly in charge of the criminal activities in town, as Annette Zofrea, the mother of Morgan’s boyfriend, Max, reveals her true colors as the criminal mastermind.

And soon, it all starts to click into place for the sibling duo, including the mystery of why they were the only ones who were spared during the assassination of the Cratel and Ivan, as Annette forces Morgan to marry Max in the future.

8 What Did the Cast Say About Big Mistakes Season 2?

While Netflix hasn’t officially stated that Big Mistakes has been renewed for a second season, lead star and co-creator Dan Levy’s recent comments raise fan confidence in its possibility. During the red carpet event for Big Mistakes‘ premiere (via TV Insider), the star said:

Oh, I know exactly what I want to see in the second season of the show. A lot of the show is written in my head at this point. All I know is that if we are given the opportunity to tell a second season, it’s going to be bigger and better, and I can’t wait to get back to the writer’s room because we have a big old story to tell.

And with the cliffhanger ending that ended the debut setting with a major twist, there’s an extremely high likelihood of the series retruning for a second season.

9 Is Dan Levy Gay in Real Life?

As well as playing the role of a gay reverend in Big Mistakes, Dan Levy is also gay in real life, and has been proudly open about it since he was 18 years old.

In a 2020 interview on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, along with his father Eugene Levy, he talked about coming out to his parents, where his father revealed that he and his wife knew their son was gay for a while, and waited for him to tell them on his own terms.
