In the last episode, Homelander (Antony Starr) had a vision of Madelyn Stillwell (The Karate Kid’s Elisabeth Shue), who gave him the impression that he is a lord and savior. He shares this revelation with Misty Tucker Gray, aka Firecracker (Valorie Curry), who at first thinks he has found God, not that he has become The Lord, The Creator, or The Supreme Being. Firecracker finds this disturbing.
However, since she will do anything for him, Firecracker grants his wish. She will spread the good word of his new stature on her alt-right podcast series, “The Truth Bomb.” She has a meeting with Vought loyalists to go over how to sell this to the public. However, Firecracker comes up with the Democratic Church of America. The divine rebranding has patriots of faith,
Homelander is known as the Prophet of not just the Lord, but America. However, Butcher (Karl Urban) tries to mend Ryan back to health after the beating his father gave him in the last episode. Billy comments that they’ve found themselves in an Empire Strikes Back situation, but Ryan says he’s never seen Empire Strikes Back, only Star Wars. He asks if Harrison Ford is the guy from Regarding Henry.
Butcher goes to grab him some water, but when he returns, Ryan has taken off. Meanwhile, he visits the lab, where Frenchie (Tomer Capone) tells Billy that the virus will take about a week to take effect. So they decide they need to head to Fort Harmony to get more Compound V. Little do they know, Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and Homelander are headed there as well.

Now, why would she do that? In her words, it is a good thing.
Why? Well, because when Homelander gets the Compound V, he will be immortal. The father-and-son duo can spend eternity together. Of course, the look on Soldier Boy’s face says it all. He takes off, partnering with him. Meanwhile, Starlight (Gen V’s Erin Moriarty) flies to her father’s (Tim Daly) home, where she meets his wife and half-brother, Mason. Yes, her father is a police officer.
She demands an explanation for why he is hiding from her. It turns out Homelander has turned the entire police force into informants on supes, so in a way, he is protecting her. Mason, who is anti-Starlighters, calls the cops, his father’s partner. He arrives, pulls his gun, and Annie’s father convinces him that what they are doing is wrong. He leaves, telling them that Annie has to leave immediately.
Meanwhile, Butcher, Hughie, Mother (Laz Alonso), Kimiko (Karen Meanwhile, Butcher, Hughie (Novocaine’s Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara), and Frenchie head to Fort Harmony, where they find dead bodies and birds everywhere. However, they begin arguing and turn on each other as they enter the complex. Frenchie tells them that Compound V has gotten into the water supply, has become a fungus, and that they’ve breathed it in, causing them to fight one another.

The third-oldest Supe, Frenchie, finds the drug heroin where Compound V used to be in the abandoned clinic. Butcher and Mother’s Milk immediately suspect the Supe, though Frenchie says no one has seen him in decades. They begin to fight, nearly killing each other, until Soldier Boy shows up.
However, right before that, Soldier Boy throws Homelander into a room that strips him of his powers because it contains enriched uranium. He tells his son they used to put them in there to see if Supes could survive an atomic bomb. That’s when Soldier Boy finds Butcher and his friends and tries to kill them. Then they find Quinn, stuck to a wall, a doctor who tortured him back in the day.
The Boys, Season 5, Episode 4, titled “Though the Heavens Fall,” ends with Soldier Boy sending a radioactive energy blast toward Quinn, killing him and stopping the madness of everyone attacking each other. The team leaves unharmed. The father-and-son Supe duo leaves as well, letting Homelander out, then telling his son that he slept with Firecracker.
