From a technical standpoint, there was some movement in the episode rather than the standard “slide show” we’ve been getting. However, it wasn’t really a drastic shake-up from the usual, but at least the narrative was good enough this time around to draw attention away from the visual mediocrity.

A Series of Training Keeps Arthur Engaged Back at Home
The Beginning After the End Season 2 Episode 4 | Credits: Studio A-CatEpisode 4 began with Arthur and Jasmine’s return home from the eventful mana beast encounter at the deserted island. However, Jasmine is approached by the AA-Rank adventurer Brald, who asks her to join his party for a particular adventure. The episode then shifts to Arthur back home as he preps for a series of training with The Twin Horns – Helen Shard, Adam Krensh, Angela Rose, and Durden Walker.
As Arthur finishes his training with Adam, the rest of the party starts their training with him. Meanwhile, Jasmine approaches Reynolds with the unusual invitation she received from Brald. After the two have brainstormed the possibilities, Jasmine leaves as Rey tasks her with delving deeply into the matter. Rey then approaches Arthur in the courtyard to train with him, but is stopped by Alice and Eleanor.
Arthur and Jasmine Start Preparations for One Last Adventure
While Jasmine left to do a deeper investigation regarding the Brald matter, Arthur accompanied his mom and sister for some shopping. Meanwhile, at the guild, Lucas seems frustrated with the lack of good quests to take on. While he was still deliberating on what to do, Shiun arrived at the guild and informed him about Brald looking for party members to explore a dungeon; Lucas agreed almost immediately and left to join the party.
Back at the town centre, Arthur gets detached from his mother and sister and browses a shop to buy a Dimensional Ring. While he is engaged in a conversation with Helen and Angela, his mother and sister find him, and the shopping continues, ending with Arthur exhausted at the end of the day. Back home, as Arthur seeks Jasmine to talk about his last adventure before joining the Xyrus Academy, the two decide to join Brald’s party for one last adventure.
The Beginning After the End Season 2 Episode 4 Final Verdict
Shiun from The Beginning After the End Season 2 Episode 4 | Credits: Studio A-CatGetting down to the nitpicking portion of the review, The Beginning After the End Season 2 Episode 4 wasn’t really that bad of an episode. Sure, the animation is still subpar and basically still a slideshow. I mean, what’s up with Rey’s “crabwalk”? Although the animation studio added some movement in the episode, it was really awkward more than a few times.
The only thing that was really “good” about the episode was the narrative, which fortunately has nothing to do with Studio A-Cat and was all TurtleMe and his brilliant narrative. The story flow was good enough to draw my attention and ignore the animation, at least for this episode. But the way things are going, I’m really not sure how the animation will hold as we enter the actual peak of the arc in the upcoming episodes.

The Beginning After the End Season 2 Episode 4 Review: Awkward Movements With an Enticing Storyline
Honestly, the animation is still sub par standards and didn't really improve much. However, the narrative was good enough to steal my attention away from the visuals.
