Along with the movie, the third season of the anime was also announced, which is slated to begin broadcasting slightly earlier in October 2026. The movie is being produced by TOHO animation STUDIO, with Norihiro Naganuma returning to direct the project.

Furthermore, a line of dialogue spoken by Jinshi expresses his concern regarding a specific, unnamed region. These details indicate that the plot involves Maomao and Jinshi traveling to a new territory. It is very possible that Maomao has nothing to do with the new place, but Jinshi made her tag along since she is one of his smartest assets.

Lead voice actress Aoi Yuki, who provides the voice for Maomao, has shared more information regarding the film’s production status. During a special public screening event held in Tokyo in April 2026, Aoi Yuki confirmed that she already knows the entire story of the movie. (via official website)
