The episode begins with the return of the Dungeon Dominators – the Avatar group created by Rimuru and his subordinates – only this time, they have a team and individual names. Milim’s avatar is the Red Meteor – Scarlet; Ramiris’ avatar is the Heavy Armor of Purple Smoke – Mauve Titan; Veldora’s avatar is the Laughing Golden Skull – Goldskull; and Rimuru’s avatar is the Blue Reaper – Blue Death; collectively known as the Dungeon Dominators.

Fearing the return of Team Green Fury, the Dungeon Dominators “practiced” on other adventurers throughout the dungeon, ultimately leading to them defeating a lot of the groups. Meanwhile, Masayuki and his team are doing fairly well and have reached the 50th floor. Thanks to them and the televised broadcast, the town is booming with new adventurers eager to join the dungeon escapades.

As Rimuru and the gang return from their “training”, Shuna is waiting for them with news of an unexpected guest’s arrival. As they enter the room, they find Frey. As Milim spots Frey, she tries to hide behind Rimuru, but it is too late, and she is already spotted. Frey reveals that Milim has been skipping her actual duties and goofing around with Rimuru and the others.

With everyone scared of Frey and backing out of supporting Milim, the latter is dragged out of the castle by the former. Meanwhile, as Shuna questions Rimuru about his whereabouts, Veldora and Ramiris make a quick exit. As Rimuru panicked, Gard rushed in with news of the Council meeting on Tempest.

A Vote to Let Tempest Join the Western Council Concludes

On the other side of the country, a council meeting was held among the Western Nations to determine whether or not to accept the Jura Tempest Federation as a part of them. While many nations were going back and forth with support and objections on the matter, the push was given by Johann Rostia, by bringing up the military movements of the Eastern Countries.

Johann explained to the other nobles about how it would be profitable if they had the Demon King Rimuru, the Storm Dragon Veldora, and the monster army of Jura Tempest Federation by their side. His convincing was successful, which was clear from the majority voting to include the Tempest Country as a part of the council. Meanwhile, Hinata, who was an onlooker, left the council meeting to be intercepted only by the first prince of Engrassia.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4 Episode 4 was really a good mashup of comedy, adventure, and narratively important context. What I really liked about the episode was the flow of the stories; what started with tons of comedy and a carefree narrative transitioned into a complex plot and context by the end.

Furthermore, it was visually appealing to watch, which at this point is definitely something I expect from Studio 8-bit. That being said, this particular episode wasn’t able to match the intensity, climax, and visual prowess of the previous episode, but that doesn’t mean it was bad in any way. The previous episode just set the bar too high for the anime series, and we’ll have to see where this goes with the upcoming episodes of Season 4.

The episode was really great in terms of narrative delivery and maintaining the perfect balance between comedy and story. I really liked how the episode pushed towards a more serious plot, in the most light weighted way possible.
