Scream 7 Trailer: Sidney Prescott Returns to Franchise to Fight Unkillable Ghostface 

Scream 7 trailer is here, and guess what? The upcoming movie is bringing back the queen of horror herself, Sidney Prescott. For the first time since 2011’s Scream 4, Neve Campbell is stepping into the spotlight, leading the story instead of passing the torch. And this time, a new Ghostface appears and brings terror right to her doorstep. 

The trailer opens with a couple renting the old Macher house, the same house from the first movie. It has now become an Airbnb-style stay, and just like classic Scream fashion, things go horribly wrong within no time. Ghostface returns, and it’s clear this killer wants Sidney again. Even worse, he threatens her daughter, Tatum.  

We also see Courteney Cox back as Gale Weathers, looking sharp and ready to fight. So, this time, Sidney and Gale team up once again, proving that Ghostface can try, but he can never truly escape them. Meanwhile, with familiar faces, creepy callbacks, and a bold new chapter, the trailer for Scream 7 promises to bring back everything fans love: fear, legacy, and the fight that never ends.

Who Could Be Behind That Ghostface Mask in Scream 7?

Now, considering how the trailer for Scream 7 upped the stakes with Sydney’s return and a new Ghostface terrorizing her, fans are already talking and guessing who could be this new killer. Well, earlier reports from Deadline suggested that dead characters like Dewey, Scream co-killer Stu, and Scream 3 killer Roman could appear in some form. 

Perhaps, much like Sam was seeing her dad, Billy, in visions in Scream (2022), Sidney could also be seeing these people from her past. Or maybe the movie is teasing a huge twist where one of them, or even more than one, never died at all. There’s also a wild idea that Sidney’s husband could be involved in tormenting her. 

Why not? After all, the franchise had once planned for Stu to survive in Scream 2 and plan more murders from jail. Plus, the trailer even has narrative voices of Ghostface that sound like Dewey and Stu, which makes things even more confusing and exciting. Whether they are real or just in Sidney’s mind, fans are already buzzing.

So far, we know Kevin Williamson, the creator of Scream, is directing this film. And sadly, the trailer doesn’t reveal much about the plot, except what’s needed to build excitement. So, until the movie hits theaters on February 27, 2026, the identity of Ghostface remains hidden under that iconic mask.
