Rockstar Games Officially Confirms No Delay for GTA 6 Despite Massive Leak Wave

GTA 6 has spent the past week being the center of gaming’s biggest storm of 2026. An anonymous entity by the name CyberLeek flooded social media with leaked gameplay clips just days before Rockstar’s official Netflix showcase, making many afraid that the studio might push back its November launch entirely.

However, Rockstar Games has finally issued a statement addressing the whole fiasco, shutting down speculations about any kind of delay.

Beginning around August 18, the CyberLeek leaks arrived in waves, with driving and combat sequences featuring Jason, and glimpses of the Leonida map and Vice City being showcased. Since then, more than ten separate clips have surfaced within days, with a couple of them revealing some of the most major GTA 6 mechanics Rockstar would have liked to keep under wraps.

Talking about their motive, CyberLeek has said that these leaks are their form of protest against digital-only distribution and similar practices in the industry.

Moreover, taking action against these unauthorized leaks, Take-Two has issued DMCA subpoenas against Microsoft in an effort to unmask the accounts tied to the leaks. Rockstar Games initially stayed silent before publishing a letter to the community today, i.e., August 26.

The studio described the leaks as “heartbreaking” for the team and admitted that the wait for the game itself and details about it has dragged on longer than the studio would have liked. The letter also addressed the timing directly, noting that the extended look is scheduled for the next day (August 27), and that the team wanted to exceed expectations with it.

The studio closed by thanking the community for its support over the past week and encouraged everyone to hold out for the full experience when the game launches on November 19.

Despite the disruption, journalist Jason Schreier, via Bloomberg, has suggested that the studio’s leadership is treating the internal response as an all-hands effort while leaving its external plans untouched.

Rockstar Games has no intention of postponing its gameplay premiere, which is an extended look on Netflix, set to debut in about 24 hours, before hitting Rockstar’s YouTube channel a few hours later.

While the entity behind the leaks stays uncaught, the studio’s message is clear, and that is that the plan hasn’t changed at all.
