One Piece: Every Known Supreme Grade Blade, Ranked by User Skill

One Piece has never treated swords as mere pieces of steel. A blade can carry history, prestige, curses, or the reputation of the warrior who swings it. One of the strongest weapons is the Supreme Grade Blades sit at the highest known tier, yet only five have been definitively identified so far: Yoru, Ace, Murakumogiri, Shodai Kitetsu, and Yakuza Kasen.

But here is where things get interesting. A legendary blade does not automatically make its wielder legendary. Haki, technique, experience, physical ability, and sheer combat instinct determine how frightening that weapon becomes. Roger, Whitebeard, Mihawk, Nusjuro, and Fujitora each prove that in very different ways.

So this ranking is not asking which blade is strongest. It is asking which wielder extracted the most terrifying level of skill from one.

5 Yakuza Kasen Proves Just How Dangerous Fujitora Is With a Sword

User: Issho (Fujitora)

At #5, Fujitora is the strangest Supreme Grade wielder here, and that is precisely why he lands fifth. Fujitora’s ranking is not a knock on his ability. Quite the opposite, actually, as he’s a blind swordsman and Admiral who possesses the Zushi Zushi no Mi. Yakuza Kasen itself is a shikomizue, or cane sword, forged by Wano swordsmith Fugetsu Kisaburo. Its ordinary appearance as Fujitora’s walking stick makes the weapon almost hilariously understated for something belonging to the Supreme Grade.

More importantly, Fujitora does not fight like Mihawk or Roger. His Armament Haki was strong enough to reinforce the sword against Doflamingo’s Birdcage, while his Observation Haki allows him to fight despite having no conventional vision.

4 Shodai Kitetsu Made Nusjuro One of the World’s Deadliest Swordsmen

User: Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro

Nusjuro earns fourth because Egghead finally gave his swordsmanship room to scream. Nusjuro is where this ranking becomes particularly uncomfortable for anyone standing nearby with a sword. His Shodai Kitetsu is the first-generation blade of the notorious Kitetsu lineage, and its cursed reputation only adds another layer to an already terrifying weapon. During Egghead, Nusjuro demonstrated extraordinarily fast and precise swordsmanship, cutting through the Labophase and threatening the Thousand Sunny.

Then there is the Haki. Nusjuro can use Observation, Armament, and Supreme King Haki, putting him in an exceptionally rare class. His clash with Zoro produced the familiar black-lightning effect associated with Supreme King Haki. That makes his technical ceiling terrifying.

3 Murakumogiri Became Terrifying in the Hands of Whitebeard

User: Whitebeard (a.k.a. Edward Newgate)

Whitebeard #3 is unfair to everyone else. Whitebeard’s placement shows exactly why this ranking cannot simply become a power chart. Murakumogiri is technically a naginata, making it the only known Supreme Grade Blade that is not a conventional sword. Whitebeard nevertheless wielded it for more than four decades, making the weapon practically inseparable from his identity.

During his legendary confrontation with Roger, their Supreme Grade weapons met, and both men infused them with Supreme King Haki. Whitebeard also layered Armament Haki and the Gura Gura no Mi onto his fighting style, transforming Murakumogiri into an extension of his devastating battlefield presence. Whitebeard was an extraordinary polearm user and perhaps the greatest overall combatant associated with a Supreme Grade Blade.

2 Ace Was the Perfect Weapon for Roger’s Legendary Swordsmanship

There is something wonderfully appropriate about Ace being Roger’s signature weapon. A Supreme Grade cutlass in the hands of the man who became the Pirate King is almost too perfect for One Piece. Roger’s greatest confirmed swordsmanship display remains his clash with Whitebeard. Ace was capable of carrying both Armament and Supreme King Haki as Roger battled another legendary wielder of a Supreme Grade weapon.

Roger also dispatched Oden with a single sword technique when the samurai approached him, establishing just how enormous the gap could be between Roger and another elite warrior. Ace’s exact whereabouts after Roger’s death remain unknown, adding another piece of mystery to its legacy. So why not #1? Because Roger was much more than a swordsman.

1 Mihawk’s Mastery of Yoru Shows Why He Stands Above Every Swordsman

User: Dracule Mihawk

This is the one place where the ranking almost writes itself. Mihawk is officially recognized as the World’s Strongest Swordsman, and Yoru is one of the twelve Supreme Grade Blades. More importantly, it is a permanent Black Blade, an achievement that places his relationship with Haki and swordsmanship in a category of its own. At Marineford, Mihawk’s long-range slash was aimed across the battlefield toward Whitebeard’s forces, with Mihawk explicitly treating the attack as a means of measuring the distance between himself and Whitebeard.

Then there is his history with Shanks. Their legendary duels established Mihawk as a swordsman capable of repeatedly challenging one of the world’s most formidable combatants. So, if the question is which warrior most completely embodies the art of swordsmanship through his Supreme Grade Blade, then Mihawk and Yoru are the natural finish.
