Sanji’s fight against Saint Killingham takes a worrying turn in One Piece Chapter 1195. The Straw Hat cook unleashes his Ifrit Jambe attacks and kicks the Holy Knight’s body into pieces, but Killingham keeps regenerating. Sanji is already badly injured, and his opponent continues to mock him while preparing another devastating attack.
Then Killingham makes a particularly interesting remark. He tells Sanji that he will never possess Conqueror’s Haki, directly challenging the possibility that the Straw Hat could wield the rare ability. Meanwhile, Sanji remembers his earlier conversation with Scopper Gaban, where the former Roger Pirate says he should have the “potential for it”, but identified a “streak of masochistic instability”.
The conversation connects to the earlier flashback from One Piece Chapter 1187, where Sanji remembered Gaban urging Sanji to become a king himself if he truly wanted to help Luffy become the Pirate King. That conversation was already a major hint about Sanji’s potential. Chapter 1195 brings it back into focus when Killingham’s taunt triggers Sanji’s memories of Gaban’s warning. The story then goes further, showing moments from Sanji’s past when he was willing to sacrifice himself for others.
This is where the idea of Sanji’s biggest weakness becomes particularly fascinating. His loyalty is one of his greatest qualities, but he has repeatedly treated his own life as expendable when protecting his friends. From his willingness to leave the crew for their sake on Whole Cake Island to his decision to take on danger alone, Sanji often puts everyone else before himself.
Gaban’s warning suggests Sanji’s biggest weakness might be his struggle to recognise his own worth, even though he possesses the strength and potential to stand beside the world’s most powerful fighters. Conqueror’s Haki is associated with overwhelming ambition and the qualities of a king, making his lack of self-belief an especially crucial obstacle.
The chapter then delivers another intriguing twist. As Sanji suffers under Killingham’s attacks, he remembers his two years of training in Kamabakka Kingdom with Ivankov. Ivankov repeatedly warned him about a serious weakness, and the chapter ends before fully explaining what Ivankov meant. However, the connection between Gaban’s warning, Sanji’s history of self-sacrifice, and Killingham’s taunts is difficult to ignore.
Could overcoming this weakness unlock Sanji’s Conqueror’s Haki? It is a compelling possibility. Conqueror’s Haki would be a significant next step for Sanji, but he may first need to change the way he sees himself.

Sanji’s struggle is not the only major development in Chapter 1195. Zoro appears to have made a breakthrough against Saint Shepherd Sommers after struggling to control his Conqueror’s Haki in One Piece Chapter 1194.
Sommers flees in fear, but Zoro catches up to him. A scream follows, suggesting that the battle has taken a decisive turn. Although the chapter does not explicitly confirm Sommers’ death, Zoro’s progress highlights how quickly the Straw Hats are adapting to the Holy Knights’ unusual abilities.
Meanwhile, Brook’s attempt to reach Gunko becomes one of the chapter’s most emotional moments. Gunko begins remembering her past as Princess Shuri and her connection to Brook, but she continues to identify herself as a member of the Manmayer family, suggesting that her memories are returning while her identity remains caught in Imu’s influence.
The chapter also introduces another mystery surrounding Nefertari Lily. Biblo reveals that Lily once lived in Elbaf and left something behind centuries ago. Given Lily’s connection to the Void Century and the founding of the World Government, this discovery could become important as the Final Saga progresses.
Still, Sanji’s cliffhanger may be the chapter’s most intriguing setup. Zoro is learning to control a power he already possesses, while Sanji may need to confront a deeply rooted weakness before reaching his next level. So, now the big question: Will Sanji overcome his self-doubt and awaken Conqueror’s Haki in Elbaf, or does Ivankov’s mysterious warning point to something even more surprising?
