RJ Mitte’s Last TV Series Was Netflix’s Justice League Parody Where Superman Dies

RJ Mitte, best known for playing Walter White Jr. in Breaking Bad, tragically passed away on October 12 at the age of 34. The cause of his death has not been determined pending an autopsy and a subsequent investigation. Mitte, who was a disability rights advocate and lived with cerebral palsy, had a superhero series as his last television project.

Mitte starred in Netflix’s The Guardians of Justice, which was released on March 1, 2022. Created by Adi Shankar, the series features him as Mind Master, a supervillain who is secretly romantically involved with Marvelous Man, the series’ powerful superhero.

The Guardians of Justice offered Mitte a role quite different from his character Walter White Jr. in Breaking Bad. Moving from a grounded family drama to playing a morally dark character in a stylized superhero series, Mitte successfully demonstrated his diverse acting range.

Created by Adi Shankar (Castlevania, Devil May Cry), The Guardians of Justice blends live-action, animation, and video-game visuals with comic-book storytelling. The series is actually a parody of classic superhero franchises, including DC’s Justice League.

The seven-episode miniseries follows Knight Hawk, who investigates the mysterious death of Marvelous Man. RJ Mitte plays Mind Master, who is a supervillain and a drug dealer. He also has a discreet romantic involvement with Marvelous Man, who was an alien superhero. As his demise threatens to plunge the world into chaos and war, Mind Master also becomes relevant to the mysterious circumstances surrounding the powerful superhero’s death.

Alongside RJ Mitte as Mind Master, Diamond Dallas Page plays Knight Hawk, while Will Yun Lee takes on Marvelous Man. The Guardians of Justice also features Derek Mears as Awesome Man, Sharni Vinson as Speed, Tiffany Hines as Black Bow, Preeti Desai as Golden Goddess, Edi Gathegi as Mr. Smiles, and Adi Shankar as Logan Lockwood.

Meanwhile, alongside Breaking Bad and The Guardians of Justice, RJ Mitte has also starred in Triumph (2021), The Oak Room (2020), The Recall (2017), and more. His last TV series before his death, The Guardians of Justice, is currently streaming on Netflix.
