One Piece may have just lined up a surprising new Conqueror’s Haki user in Emporio Ivankov. In chapter 1195, released October 11, 2026, Sanji is getting beaten down by Saint Killingham when his mind drifts back to his two years in Kamabakka Kingdom, and the Okama Queen shows up in the very last panel.
Ivankov warned Sanji about a serious weakness back then, and the chapter ends before Oda explains it. Given where the story is heading with Haki, that cliffhanger feels very deliberate to longtime fans, almost like a quiet promise.
One Piece Chapter 1195 Drops Ivankov Into Conqueror’s Haki Talk
Emporio Ivankov from One Piece | Credits: ShueishaThe timing is what makes this stand out. One chapter earlier, in Chapter 1194, Zoro finally gained control of his Conqueror’s Haki against Saint Sommers by remembering Mihawk’s lesson. According to Mihawk, the power is so strong that the weak can’t stand against it, and what fuels it is a sense of self. Zoro tied on his bandana, and it worked. Suddenly, Conqueror’s Haki stopped feeling like a gift for the chosen and started feeling like something a person has to earn by knowing who they are. That detail matters a lot for what comes next.
Then Chapter 1195 shifts the spotlight to Sanji. He’s up against Saint Killingham of the Holy Knights. The fight isn’t going his way, and he’s running low on strength. Killingham keeps mocking him, and the taunts send Sanji back to a conversation with Scopper Gaban. Gaban told him he has the potential for Conqueror’s Haki, but that an unstable streak in his mind could hold him back. It’s a direct callback to chapter 1187, where Gaban urged Sanji to become a king himself if he truly wants to help Luffy become the Pirate King.
And that’s where Ivankov walks in. As the beating continues, an old memory from the time skip surfaces, and Ivankov appears, reminding Sanji that he warned him again and again about a serious weakness. We never find out what it is. Oda simply ends the chapter there, leaving readers wondering whether that mystery is the last lock standing between Sanji and his Haki, and why Ivankov of all people is the one holding the key.
How Ivankov Perfectly Parallels Mihawk’s Conqueror’s Haki Lesson
Here’s the thing about Ivankov: nothing in the story has ever shown him using Conqueror’s Haki, so this is a setup, not a confirmation. But the parallel with Mihawk and Zoro is hard to miss. Mihawk beat Zoro back at the Baratie, then trained him on Kuraigana Island during the time skip. Ivankov beat Sanji before the time skip, then put him through two years of his own in Kamabakka Kingdom. Both men were obstacles first and mentors second.
Zoro was struggling against Saint Sommers when Mihawk’s words came back and unlocked his control. Sanji is losing to Saint Killingham when Ivankov’s words come back. Same structure, same pressure, and the same hint that the answer was already sitting in his head. Even the lessons rhyme. Mihawk’s point was that Conqueror’s Haki runs on a sense of self. Ivankov has spent his whole life preaching that people should be whatever they want to be, whether that’s a man, a woman, or an Okama. A serious weakness, in that light, could easily be Sanji not fully accepting who he is, which lines up with Gaban’s warning about his unstable streak.
Ivankov also has the résumé of a man who knows what willpower looks like. He’s the Queen of Kamabakka Kingdom, a founding member of the Revolutionary Army, and the commander of its G Army. At Marineford, he ran right beside Luffy when Luffy’s Haoshoku Haki burst out, and he asked Luffy where that power came from. That’s no proof of anything, but it’s a nice breadcrumb. If Oda is repeating the Zoro formula, Ivankov might be the one who finally gets Sanji there.
