Spoiler Alert !!!
This article contains spoilers from One Piece manga.
In One Piece, getting stronger is not always about eating a powerful Devil Fruit or learning a new attack. Sometimes, it all comes down to Haki.
As the Straw Hats enter the final stage of their journey, several members are clearly being set up for major Haki upgrades. The Elbaf arc has already dropped some big hints, and these five Straw Hat Pirates are on track for major Haki power-ups in the Final Saga.
5 Usopp’s Observation Haki Is Due for a Major Upgrade
Usopp from One Piece Chapter 1192. | Credit: ShueishaUsopp takes the fifth spot because an Observation Haki upgrade fits him better than any other power. He is the Straw Hats’ sniper, so being able to sense enemies from far away and predict their moves is exactly what he needs. Interestingly, Oda has suddenly brought Usopp back into the spotlight once again in the recent Elbaf chapters. In Chapter 1192, he stands with Luffy and the giants during the fight against Imu, refusing to leave the people of Elbaf behind.
Oda rarely brings a Straw Hat into such an important moment for no reason. A major upgrade, possibly even Future Sight, would finally give Usopp the big power boost he needs in the Final Saga. He ranks fifth simply because the other four already have much stronger Haki setups.
4 Jinbe’s Armament Haki Is Ready for the Next Level
Jinbe from the One Piece anime. | Credit: Toei AnimationJinbe sits above Usopp because he already has the strength and fighting style to make advanced Armament Haki extremely dangerous. His Fish-Man Karate lets him damage opponents without always needing to hit them directly, making Haki an even better match for his abilities.
We saw Jinbe’s strength during the Whole Cake Island arc when he stood up to Big Mom and later in Wano when he defeated Who’s-Who. His next step should be taking his Armament Haki further. Instead of giving him a completely new power, Oda can simply push the Haki he already uses to a much higher level.
3 Sanji’s Conqueror’s Haki Is Already Being Teased
Sanji from One Piece Chapter 1187. | Credit: ShueishaSanji’s position is much more interesting now because his Conqueror’s Haki has been directly teased in the Elbaf arc. In One Piece Chapter 1187, Scopper Gaban tells Sanji that he needs to become a king if he truly wants to help Luffy become Pirate King. The message is clearly tied to Sanji’s hidden potential.
This also fits Sanji’s character perfectly. He has spent much of the story putting others before himself and refusing to see himself as someone important. Scopper Gaban‘s words challenge that mindset. With Sanji fighting major enemies in Elbaf, his Conqueror’s Haki is being set up as the next big step in his growth. He ranks third because Zoro’s Haki upgrade is already happening.

Zoro has had Conqueror’s Haki since Wano, but he is now learning how to truly control it. That makes his upgrade more than simple speculation. His fight with Saint Sommers in Chapters 1193 and 1194 of One Piece takes this even further.
His memories of Mihawk also become important as he works toward better control. That puts Roronoa Zoro above Sanji for now. Sanji has the setup for his first Conqueror’s Haki awakening, while Zoro is already taking his existing Supreme King Haki to another level.
1 Luffy’s Conqueror’s Haki Can Reach the Joy Boy Level
Luffy against Imu from the One Piece manga. | Credit: ShueishaMonkey D. Luffy takes the top spot because his Haki growth is now directly tied to Joy Boy and the fight against Imu. He already mastered advanced Conqueror’s Haki, but the Final Saga has shown that even that level is not enough.
The recent Elbaf chapters make this very clear. In One Piece Chapter 1192, Luffy joins Loki and Hajrudin in the fight against Imu, using Gear 5 while pushing his attacks further. His Dawn Thor Bullet damages Imu’s shield, showing just how far Luffy has come. At the same time, the battle keeps placing Luffy alongside figures connected to the old world and Joy Boy’s legacy.
The biggest clue came earlier in Chapter 1122, when Joy Boy’s Haki stored inside Emet was released. The enormous burst affected the Five Elders and even made Imu react with fear. Now, with Luffy fighting Imu and growing stronger in Elbaf, reaching that level feels like the natural next step.
Now the big question: Which Straw Hat do you think will get the biggest Haki upgrade before One Piece ends? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
