One Piece: 5 Characters Who Can Solo Luffy and Zoro at the Same Time

In One Piece, Luffy and Zoro have reached a level where taking them on together is almost unthinkable. Yet the Final Saga has introduced several characters whose abilities, Haki, experience, or Devil Fruit powers could give them a real chance.

For this ranking, we are not counting deceased legends such as Joy Boy, Gol D. Roger, Rocks D. Xebec, and Whitebeard. Their reputation in Eiichiro Oda’s world, along with their God Valley-era power, remains hugely important, especially with ONE PIECE FILM: GOD VALLEY officially announced for Summer 2027, but the focus here is on fighters who can still enter the battlefield. With that said, here are the five One Piece characters who stand out the most.

1 Mihawk Can Exploit Luffy’s Weakness With His Sword

Dracule Mihawk has one of the most dangerous advantages against this particular duo. As the World’s Strongest Swordsman, he represents the ultimate swordsmanship level that Zoro has been chasing since childhood.

His biggest advantage against Luffy is even more interesting. Mihawk’s long-range slashes and incredible accuracy could force Luffy to stay defensive while Zoro struggles against the swordsman he has spent the entire series trying to surpass.

2 Scopper Gaban Wields Peak Roger Pirates Combat Mastery

Scopper Gaban‘s return in the Elbaf Arc has completely changed how his strength should be viewed. One Piece Episode 1170 showed him casually testing Luffy and Zoro before Luffy had to bring out Gear 5. That alone made it clear that the former Roger Pirates fighter was not simply an old legend.

The manga went even further in Chapters 1190 and 1191. Gaban stepped between Imu and Luffy, fought the mysterious ruler directly, and lost an arm while protecting Luffy. Imu also recognized Gaban from the God Valley era and acknowledged that he had become much stronger. Those feats made Gaban even more terrifying, and his recent fight gives him a much clearer showing against Straw Hat Pirates‘ most powerful duo.

3 Blackbeard Can Shut Down Gear 5 With His Dark Fruit

Marshall D. Teach has one of the best abilities for stopping Luffy’s biggest weapon. The Yami Yami no Mi allows Blackbeard to cancel a Devil Fruit power when he makes physical contact with its user. This ability was already shown during his fight with Ace.

That makes a fight against Gear 5 Luffy especially dangerous. Blackbeard does not need to overpower Luffy’s rubber body in the usual way if he can grab him and remove his Devil Fruit powers. He also has the Gura Gura no Mi, giving him huge attacks that can cover a wide area and make it harder for Zoro to freely enter the fight. His two Devil Fruits give him more tools in a chaotic two-on-one battle.

4 Shanks Can Overwhelm Luffy and Zoro With His Supreme Haki

Shanks does not need a powerful Devil Fruit to stand among the strongest. His Haki alone has produced some of the most frightening moments in the Final Saga. Chapter 1079 showed just how dangerous this combination can be when Shanks used Future Sight to read Kid’s attack and ended the fight with Divine Departure.

His Haki also gives him a major advantage against two opponents. Shanks can read movements with advanced Observation Haki and unleash enormous Conqueror’s Haki pressure. Add his swordsmanship to that, and both Luffy and Zoro would have to deal with an opponent who can attack quickly while giving them very little room to react.

5 Imu Can Overpower Luffy and Zoro With His Godlike Power

Imu sits at the top because the Final Saga has finally started showing just how frightening the ruler of the World Government can be. During the Elbaf Arc, Imu was able to push Luffy to the limit while using terrifying powers and weapons that even the strongest fighters struggled to handle.

Chapters 1189 through 1191 raised the stakes even further. Imu attacked Luffy, forced Gaban to intervene, and then cut off Gaban’s arm during their clash. Chapter 1191 also showed Imu taking on a more terrifying form. Luffy and Zoro are among the strongest fighters alive, but with centuries of experience, mysterious powers, and an apparent ability to survive attacks that would finish most fighters, Imu has the clearest advantage when facing both at the same time.
