Every Game Leaving PlayStation Plus in September 2026

PlayStation Plus is losing 10 games from its catalog on September 15, giving Extra and Premium subscribers a fairly varied list of departures to work through before the deadline. The lineup ranges from a tactical Persona spin-off and three Shadowrun RPGs to an NFL simulator, an old-school mascot platformer, and two Toy Story classics.

Eight of the games are leaving the standard Game Catalog available to Extra members, while the two Toy Story titles are part of the Classics Catalog for Premium members. If anything here has been sitting untouched in your backlog, now is a good time to fix that.

1 Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back

Black Forest Games brought Bubsy back in 2017, making The Woolies Strike Back the series’ first new entry in more than two decades. It is a straightforward 2D platformer built around collecting yarn and dodging enemies, though its return didn’t exactly receive a hero’s welcome from critics.

2 EA Sports Madden NFL 26

EA Sports Madden NFL 26 arrived in August 2025 with new QB DNA and Coach DNA systems built around real NFL data, along with changes to Franchise and Superstar modes. It was also the first Madden game to launch on Nintendo Switch 2, so its PS Plus stay has been surprisingly short.

3 Persona 5 Tactica

If you have somehow avoided the Phantom Thieves’ tactical detour, Persona 5 Tactica is one of the more obvious games to prioritize here. Released in 2023, the turn-based RPG trades the mainline series’ traditional combat for cover-based battles while keeping the characters, style, and Persona mechanics intact.

4 Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII

Koei Tecmo’s historical strategy game gives you control over armies, alliances, officers, diplomacy, and the endless political mess that comes with trying to unify ancient China. Its learning curve is considerable, but that complexity is exactly why it remains an interesting pick for anyone who wants something far removed from the usual PS Plus fare.

5 Shadowrun: Dragonfall: Director’s Cut

Of the three Shadowrun games leaving, Dragonfall: Director’s Cut is arguably the one you should not sleep on. Harebrained Schemes’ tactical RPG combines turn-based combat with cyberpunk and fantasy, backed by a campaign that has earned strong praise for its writing and characters.

6 Shadowrun: Hong Kong: Extended Edition

Shadowrun: Hong Kong takes the same formula into a neon-soaked version of Hong Kong, with a new crew, expanded magic and cyberware, and an improved Matrix system. It followed Dragonfall in 2015 and was well received for its story, mission design, and tactical combat.

7 Shadowrun Returns

This is where the modern Shadowrun trilogy began. Released in 2013, Shadowrun Returns introduced Harebrained Schemes’ turn-based take on the tabletop universe, mixing tactical firefights with dialogue, character development, and a distinctly cyberpunk version of Seattle.

8 Toukiden 2

Toukiden 2 is the odd one out if you have not spent much time with Koei Tecmo’s monster-hunting series. Its open-world structure, targeted limb destruction system, weapon variety, and support for up to four-player online hunts give you plenty to work with, especially when taking on its larger Oni.

9 Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue

Premium subscribers also have to say goodbye to the PS1 classic Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue come September 15. The platformer has held up well enough to earn a strong user rating on the PlayStation Store, and its timing is particularly interesting given that it is returning as part of Toy Story: Retro Roundup! on October 15.

10 Toy Story 3

The Toy Story 3 leaving the Classics Catalog is the PSP version, which Sony brought to PS4 and PS5 with up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and video filters. A separate Toy Story 3 Complete Edition (PS Store) is scheduled for October 15, bringing improved graphics and additional content to modern consoles.
