omniscient reader's viewpoint

SUMMARY

  • Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint follows a pretty dark narrative where people are forced to take part in brutal scenarios.
  • The first scenario involved killing something or someone and those who could follow the rules got their head exploded.
  • However, Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint overlooked a major part of the population in the series: the babies.

Sing Shong’s Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint is one of the darkest pieces of narrative in history. Although it follows the themes of action and fantasy, the story also involves dark and depressing elements that revolve around the tragedies of death and despair. However, these elements are what make Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint interesting for some people.

The story follows the journey of Kim Dokja, whose world changes after the events that he had been reading in a book called Three Ways to Survive An Apocalypse started happening in reality. Kim is tasked with surviving the apocalypses deemed as scenarios by following the story from the novel and making it to the end.

Death and destruction start from the first scenario itself, as it tasks the people in the series to kill something or someone. As the world descends into chaos, Kim’s job is to think about the loopholes in the task. While it portrays a thrilling turn of events, many fans and even the creator overlooked the biggest tragedy of the first scenario: the babies.

The Darkness of Main Scenario 1 in Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint

The characters of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint are put through different obstacles that are portrayed as apocalypses or scenarios. The first scenario is called Main Scenario 1, and it features mysterious creatures called dokkaebi appearing in different places and announcing the first task to the people, and what would happen if they didn’t go through with it.

The first task involved individuals killing one or more living creatures within the time limit assigned to move forward. If they fail to complete the task, they all die. The consequence of not participating in the scenario was instant death for everyone, except the people who killed someone else.

The obstacle was pretty dark for the first scenario, as it showed the reaction of people in a life-threatening situation. Not only that, it also reflected on the cleverness of Kim Dokja, the protagonist of the series, who saves almost everyone within his vicinity by acting out on instinct.

The Element That Was Overlooked During Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint’s First Scenario

The concept of death-game world situations is pretty common in the manhwa industry. They explain the reality of a dark situation in the most freaky and thrilling way possible, making it enticing for the readers. Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint explains these situations in the best way possible for Manhwa fans.

However, the one thing that Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint overlooked was the situation of the babies in these kinds of scenarios. They are almost never portrayed in the series, or any other series for that matter. If the condition remains the same for the babies as well, it is pretty obvious that they might also die after the task ends, which would take its darkness to the next level.

Although it is understandable that portraying a viewpoint of the babies in such death game world situations is quite brutal, the story at least should address it. This makes it easy for the readers, as it is something that a lot of fans question and have still not gotten any kind of answers yet.
